I got a nice drake mallard this weekend that I would like to have mounted. Any recommended taxidermists in the BR area?

Also, I have never had a bird mounted so I'm not sure how I want to have it mounted. Any suggestions?

Finally, any idea on the range of costs I can expect? I don't mind paying a bit more for quality work.

Thanks

depends on where you want it in your house.

1 - the standard "fly by"

2 - mounted bird standing up on feet for desk top

3 - dead mount - hanging upside down by its foot like it hangs on a stringer.

With option 3, you can always add more birds to it later.

I have a dead mount collection consisting of right now, 1 green head, 1 speckled belly, and 2 blue wing teal. Hope to add a pintail and 2 green wing teal to it and be done

I really like the desk top too. Its different.

Its a bit of a haul, but Dave Luke in Breaux Bridge is considered to be among the foremost taxidermists specializing in wildfowl.

If you want the BEST at a price no higher than the others charge, look no further than Billy Ollie, Master Taxidermist and winner of Best in the World-Waterfowl Division at the World Taxidermy Championships. He is a bird specialist and his work is unparalled...
