Read the book. It's the first in what may be the best fantasy series ever. I don't read much fantasy, but I completely geeked out about this.

I am half way though the first book and if the show is anything like the book, it will be great!

I just finished the first and am about to start the second. I don't generally read fantasy either but really enjoyed this.

I'm all caught up with him on the books, so I hope he gets back to writing soon dammit.
Unfortunately he keeps extending the number of books that are to be in the series. He's already upped it from 5 to 7, with rumors that he may push it to 9.
There are people complaining that he's going to die (ala Robert Jordan) before he finishes the series. That would SUCK!

I finished the book last week. I'm starting the second one now. I hope the series does really well so they'll do all the books.

Most of them look awesome. My one complaint is Daenerys. Not even close to what I pictured, or the way Martin described her.

I hope they do a great job, maybe (hopefully) they will announce the start of the series with a publish date for the new book. Would love to see how they visualize the Tower of Joy dream/flashback.

Right, but hopefully the 5th isn't that far off.
I'm really excited for this series. I'm going to order HBO just for it.
