He doesn't bring a lot to the team. He seems to have hit his peak and that was in 2009. Not really a reliable option, even as a third receiver. I would rather have Arrington out there.

There's no defending Devery Henderson after his play this season. He's dropped far too many passes & is a poor route runner. Devery has had one decent season & that was last year when the entire offense clicked week in & week out.
Because he is a body catcher (catches the ball with his body) & runs poor routes, he will never be a dependable receiver especially on underneath routes. His main specialty is the deep ball but he dropped several this year. There's a reason he doesn't get the ball throw his direction much & that's because he can't be counted on at all.
To compare Henderson to Colston is ridiculous. Yes Colston had his share of drops this season but he also hauled in more the 80 passes this season. Also, the routes that Colston runs puts him positions to make difficult catches. Its only an attribute to how highly Payton thinks of Colston to put him running those routes & to Brees for to trust him to make tough catches in a crowd.
It takes a MAN to come down with many of the balls that Colston does. He makes his living getting behind LB's & on top of safeties. That's an area where you better be prepared to take a lick after you get your hands on the ball. Colston's level of difficulty on most catches is more then any on the Saints roster. Outside of Lance Moore, Colston has the best hands of the receiving corp.
Henderson is suppose to be a deep threat but he can't even catch the ball when he's beaten a defender. When a player can't even do his job when his number has been called then, its time for him to go. Meachem has surpassed Devery as the primary deep theat so Devery has become expendable. Plus Meachem is a better route runner & shows up better in the underneath passing game. I am all for giving Arrington a chance to show his talent. The offense can use another receiver who can catch the ball & run good routes.
