I think he has it right...
quote:

3 Reasons I Think Miles Already Knows He is Staying at LSU Reply

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1-John Chavis (LSU DC) publicly stated he was not interested in going to Texas. It was reported that Texas was offering Chavis 1 million per year which would have been a 300k raise from LSU. Chavis stated clearly that he wanted to return to LSU next season and thereafter. I seriosly doubt he made that decision w/o talking to Les Miles regarding Miles future at LSU.

2-Gary Crowton (LSUOC) stated that he was returning to LSU. I doubt that he nade that statement w/o knowing the status of Les Miles.

3-Jeremy Hill (Top10 RB)recomitted. I doubt that he recomitted to LSU at this time if he had doubts regarding LSU's coaching staff and Les Miles returning.

Whether Michigan has contacted LSU's AD or not I certainly believe that Miles' agent has been in contact and knows the situation. The actual meeting between Miles and Michigan may not ever take place in order to leave "plausible deniability".

These types of decisions by Coordinators, coaches, and major recruits simply aren't made in the dark. All of theses decisions and public statements were made within the last 3-4 days, with the recomitment of Jeremy Hill coming withinthe last 48 hours. In addition, Michigan simply doesn't offer Miles anything he doesn't already have. Miles makes 4 million per year, is in the middle of a recruiting Gold Mine, and has some of the finest facilities and best paid staffs in the nation. I just do not see any advantage to Les Miles for leaving. None.

I agree with that rationale.

I think if Miles was going or even had a really good chance of going we wouldn't have seen Chavis stay. Just my instinct.

I really just want all of this over and resolved because I hate the unknown. I love the silly season and the coaching changes but not when it involves LSU. I just want to know how it's all going to work out.

Personally, I want Miles here for a long time.

1. Chavis would either be retained or could probably get another job at a good program pretty easily.

2. No one gives a frick what Crowton says. Of course he says he is returning... No one wants him. He has no where else to go. What he says has no bearing on what Miles does.

3. Jeremy Hill has always wanted to play for LSU... Notice LSU, not Miles. I'm sure Miles had a part in recruiting him, but a lot of these kids want to wear purple and gold no matter what.

I don't disagree with any of that, but the situation is fluid. UM may be in a position where they can't take no for an answer.

If Miles were definitely coming back, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Exactly. UM is tired of losing. They are going to be cutthroat with this process.

I see disadvantages of leaving.
1. Mich is in bad shape.
2. Its NOT a recruiting Gold Mine. In fact, it requires OOS recruiting in Ohio and W. Penn to be successful. MILES himself was an Ohio all state, who played for Mich.

The only reason to leave would be to fix up the old alma mater. Since its going to take two or three years to start up a new offense.... it seems like a hard row to hoe.

My guess is that a lot of people would be relieved if he left and took the OC with him.
