So we can sign 25 this year then, right? Since two will count back to last year.

So each school can have 85 total scholarship players. They can sign no more than 25 in a year. LSU has reduced this number for the coming year by 2 as penalty. 10 Scholarship seniors are graduating. It seems there's a numbers problem somewhere. They're going to have to red-shirt, gray-shirt or pull scholarships from current players right?

This happens every single year, to all most every school. The coaches know what to do, and where the schollys will come from.

Yes, there will be some players being left out, or ask to leave or what have you, but that is the risk they take.

Schollys are one year at a time. They can be "renewed", or not.

Not saying this will happen, but if Drew, Rasco, Jernigan, Clowney, and C.J. all wanted to come to LSU, the coaches would absolutely have spots for them! Period.

None of them count back. We used a full allotment last year.

Not with Lee bolting for the MLB. That leaves us at least one since Fordham walked on.

Pretty sure the rule is you can only count one person back no matter how many EE's you have now...

Thread on numbers. LINK. If we sign 23, we will have to lose 11 players from the current roster, assuming PP is gone.

You can backcount as many spots as you have available from the previous year.We have at least 1 maybe 2 depending on the rule regarding Zach Lee since he technically did enter school.I would assume he doesn't count so that would leave 2 that can backcount. We only took in 23 that counted towards the 2010 class.

I'm pretty sure that rule changed this year or last year. I remember reading something about this rule changing and the NCAA limiting the number you can back-count even if you have more room available from the previous year.
