Is CC's a poser hangout

for people who want to pretend to like coffee but don't really like the taste? Perhaps a place for people who like the idea of hanging out at a coffee house, but aren't really huge coffee fans?
Curious... I drive through a bit ago to get some ice coffee and asked for just a basic simple syrup as a sweetener, but was told they don't have any, but they do have flavored syrups instead. Told her don't sweat it. I'm heading to the house and I have some in my fridge.
Now, I know that Perks, Starbucks, and PJs all have simple syrups with which to sweeten their ice coffee, but it seems just a bit odd to drive up to a coffee house that serves ice coffee and they don't have anything but syrups to mask the flavor of the coffee as sweeteners, and don't get me started on their mochas which are more like hot chocolate than anything resembling coffee by the sheer volume of chocolate they put in it.
Anyway, I really want to support local and am a long time Community Coffee Dark Roast drinker, but sometimes they sure can make it difficult. Does anybody else find this when going to CCs?

Possibly partly true.
Starbucks adopted and perfected the idea of The Third Place, with home and workplace being 1 and 2. So CC's is not only trying to be a coffee seller, but rather a Third Place to draw in all types.

EXACTLY!

I don't really care for their coffee, but the handful of people I know who hang out at CCs and think their coffee is the bomb are douchenozzles.

Well normally, I'll just get CCs coffee of the day, and same with Starbucks and their Pike Place roast, but I think I'm going to begin to frequent Perks and PJ's more. I don't want to contribute to their delinquency.

I don't know what their niche is but all the CC's and PJ's I went to had crappy coffee.
The only place I've been to that has espresso as good as Starbucks is some place in Natchitoches by the river. It's not a chain. Can't remember the name.

PJ's is locally owned in Louisiana. I'm sure you knew that, but I just wanted to point it out.

Yes. Everything on their menu is loaded with sugar, chocolate, syrup, and whipped cream. It's like desserts in a cup.
If that's what you are craving, I guess that's cool. But I don't see that as coffee.

Starbucks espresso is nothing to write home about. Go to perks and get espresso there, it's the best in town by far.

I hate going through the drive through at CC's. They are so busy getting through their script of asking me if I want to try a peppermint ginger bread mocha latte that they don't hear me say I just want a super grande medium roast.
Then the try to hard sell a brownie, newspaper and bottle of water. When you say no, 3 out of 4 times they act offended and ask if I you are sure.
Finally by the time you get to the window they have no idea what is going on and ask what you ordered.
