Landry taking over in the slot

If JL can come in and take over as a slot receiver, will this help or hurt RS as that seems to be where they were trying to put him. I figure this opens him up to more specialized things.

The use of RS in our offense has been a complete and total fail. They better clean this up for the sake of this kids future.

If Landry comes in and it's obvious that he's one of our top 3 WR's, I say make him the #2 guy and keep Shepard in the slot. Jarvis seems to be a more natural #2 WR than Shepard does.

He hasn't helped himself with the drops. Hope he works on his ball skills this off season and comes back with glue on his hands. His future will be fine no matter how they use him as long as he takes care of his business.

If I recall right, the Scouts thought he was a slot guy, before this week. The report I got was that he is way more than just a slot guy. "He's the most complete reciever here". Oh, and now MVP! He can play wherever.

Landry will probably back up RRandle at #1
RS with OBJ as backup in the slot.
Toliver, Boone, Wright at the #2

Probably about right. It's not like they don't rotate guys in. The key is what plays are run with which personnel in the game.

With a decent OC, could be the best receiving corp in the country.

I just feel that RS would be better at the tailback spot

Don't for get Armand Williams. He's 6'3, and jumped 43" vertical at camp. Don't know where he fits, but thats some hops.

The top 5-6 will play a lot and create matchup problems. We are WR U.Doesn't matter who starts.Shepard must be on the field because of the threat he brings once he gets the ball. The coaches need to do more than just throw him screens though.Put him across the middle on crossing patterns matched up with a LB or S that can't run with him and allow him to get space for that speed to be used.

Shep is going to have a breakout year next season. You have to remember he played QB in HS, split time at 3 positions his freshmen year, and has only spent 1 season as a WR.

His biggest plays have come on runs or a screen. Getting him the ball where he can see the field. I still contend the biggest problem with RS is not getting him the ball enough. His YPC running is stellar.

While I would love him at WR, he will make more money at the next level as a CB IMO.

With Leach as the OC, & Met at QB, could be the best offense in the country.

I agree about Shepard's biggest plays being runs but not the screens. He very rarely has gotten the ball thrown to him out ahead where he can just continue running through the catch. He always has to either reach behind or reach way out front to catch the ball and it kills his momentum. If the screens he's been thrown so far are the best we're going to see out of him then we have al greatly overexaggerated his impact on this team.I for one believe he is much better than what we;ve seen as a wr.he can't be a screen only guy.if he is then he'll get ate up like he has so far.Just because he has great speed doesn't mean he's a "make them miss" type of runner.he hasn't shown the ability to make people miss consistently at LSU so far. That's why i say get him into space where he can just outrun instead of throwing him a screen and relying on him to make 2-3 guys miss.He hasn't shown he can do that with any regularity.Granted a lot has to do with inaccurate balls so maybe Mett can fix all that. We'll see.

Shepard's biggest talent is his elusiveness "make him miss" so I disagree! He has great burst of speed and pretty decent top end speed. Look at the video and see, especially middle to the end of video! He can change direction better than anyone I've seen in a long time. LINK

Might as well put Fobbs on defense or return unit, that WR corp is insane.
