How do they have 24 commitments with their scholarship restrictions?

They are expecting to have their scholi loss reduced to only 15 after the appeal.

They can expect all they want. We expected Ridley to not play in the cotton bowl.

Not really. They had about 10 EE spots that count towards last year.

Why? Pete carroll's last few classes were small.

Because no way that kind of attrition occurred.

early enrollees and the schollie reduction does not count this year with the appeal (uless it is heard and ruled on by signing day)

I dont want them taking a huge class. I think 25 is sufficient. I doubt the appeal is successful so they cant hurt themselves by having even less than 15 schollies to use next year assuming it stays at a 75 limit.

EE's are allowing them to take advantage.
I read that the NCAA is ruling on the appeal Jan 14 or 24.One of the 2.I know it said January.

Thanks i knew i read it was in Jan.NCAA is not going to give in on this one i'm afraid. They have been getting reamed as of late and USC is their pet project for sanctions. If they give in to USC the media will kill them.

Oh i agree. Lots of SC fans are getting happy all this stuff is happening and they think that its gonna help. I think its the opposite, the NCAA will use this to show they still have the power.

Exactly, the key is USC's last couple of classes weren't full and they are under the 85 limit (didn't realize it was by 10, but i know they have room for some to count back).

In effect the Unrepentant Serial Cheaters are applying EE's to last year's class and so are spreading the 3 year restrictions over 4. Hopefully the NCAA will take offense to their 15 schollie limit being circumvented and use the appeal to revisit the McKnight issue and USC'S defiant response to the sanctions to increase the penalties. The infractions committee said at the time that there was a strong sentiment among them to make the sanctions even more severe. It has to gall some of them to see the first year of the sanctions essentially disappear.

There will be no increase in penalties, clown.

USC's response to sanctions was to fire the AD, improve the compliance department by adding more staff, and replacing the outgoing AD with Pat Haden. Haden is a Rhodes Scholar/Rose Bowl & National Championship QB and alumnus all in one. His MO is to win things the right way or not at all.
