The talk around College Station is that A&M is going to have their way with LSU while they are on Offense. They dont understand that the LSU defensive team speed is like anything they have seen this year. I expect they will be very suprised at the usual playmakers of Nevis, Peterson, Shepard and Mathieu.......

for all of his perceived faults, Lea has his teams ready for bowl games

"Lea"
Easy mistake to make, but amusing.

I hope they are as surprised as those Big 10 teams were on New Years Day.

I can tell you there are not many Aggies who think A&M will have their way with LSU. Those that do...well theyre just not very bright.

I work with 4 Aggie grads and they don't even think they'll win

You have to understand the Aggie mindset. In their minds, they've never lost a game. They've only run out of time to mount their comeback.

They have seen team speed. OU and Nebraska have pleny of speed.

You should have told them the truth and said you believe their defense will have their way with LSU's offense.

The Big 12 >>>>>> The Big 10.......speedwise.

I also work with a couple Aggie grads over here in Houston and both came up to me and said "I'm so glad Ridley is playing, we didn't want you guys having any excuses when we beat ya'll"...
I really think the mindset is delusional although they do have a better team this year than in years past. It's going to be ugly over here in Houston if we lose, but I'm not seeing that happening.

Just hope LSU players dont believe what they are reading and go in over confident. If A&M hits some big plays and gets up a few scores it will be tough for the tigers to come back. That being said "Lets woop some aggie arse!"

I am pretty sure no one at A&M is discounting LSUs defense. The offense, maybe...
We understand that you guys have a stout defense. However, we have played Texas and Nebraska's defense and came away victorious with both. Who's defense is better between Texas, Nebraska, or LSU may be up for debate... though I would wager that LSUs is the best of the three. We have played "comparable" defenses.
Good luck Friday, I assure any Aggie who discounts the LSU defense is talking out of his arse.

It's going to be a bloodletting when the LSU defense starts teeing off on that shitty A&M offense. They are going to be shell-shocked.

Yeah, after a decade of mediocrity and sucking dick, most A&M fans (myself included) are very hesitant about being optimistic about this game.
We're a tiger by the tail (no pun) right now in terms of a fanbase.... with that said, if A&M jumps out and punches LSU in the mouth by grabbing a solid lead, you can bet all holy hell will rain down inside Jerryworld. The OU game (a little bit) and really the Nebraska game was the beginning of a turning point for the A&M fanbase.
For the past several years, we haven't been as rowdy as we once were. We were always watching with our hands over our face like a little kid peeking through his fingers at a horror film. Even when we would get a big lead on some top 5 teams at home, we were waiting for something bad to happen.
I can say that the OU and Nebraska games this year, the fanbase absolutely came unglued for the first time since at least 2002, although I might say 2000. You could feel it in the stadium and the fans knew we were going to win. It felt like the 80s and 90s again.
Now with all of that said, I, and most Aggies, feel that LSU is a mix of OU and Nebraska. You definitely don't have the offense of OU, and are probably more like the Corn. I feel you have the best of OU's and Nebraska defense. Strength, speed and instinct. I do think we can slug it out with you in a low scoring game. If our defense doesn't show up for some reason, fuggetaboutit, LSU will roll.

Remember when GT was bitching b/c they had to play an inferior LSU team?
Posted on 1/5/11 at 9:41 am to trickynicky
None of my Aggie friends are saying that. Must be college students in CS saying that stuff. The Aggies I know are just hoping for a good game and excited about the matchup of quality teams. Getting together with a house full of them Friday night to watch the game. Can't wait.
