I keep seeing people say they think he'd go 3rd round. I'm sorry but I don't see it. I'm thinking 5th at best.
ETA: what do you think?

I would say anywhere from 4th to UFA, but I also don't see him being able to improve on it all that much if he stayed an extra year.

me either. He's a guy who can push a pile and not much else. I mean Chris Ivory and Pierre Thomas didn't even get drafted and they both have more upside than Ridley

I agree. Although he has had a great year I don't see him getting drafted in the first 3 rounds.

Right.
I saw you mentioned in another thread it would be a mistake if he left. Well, if he can't better his draft stock, why stay?

play some more college ball? get a degree? there is a very real chance he could leave and not be drafted AT ALL and end up an undrafted free agent.

yeah I mean he makes decent cuts but he's not fricking Trent Richardson back there

He may have a degree, or finish his degree this spring. He has been here for 4 years.
And he can still be paid as an undrafted free agent, like Ivory, etc.
Even practice squad players do better financially than most recent grads. Looked it up, practice squaders can make $100k a year or so.

so a guy who barely even played ollege football has more upside than an all-SEC running back?

probably so... I don't know. I mean, I don't think he'll ever be drafted above round 5 if that. If he needs the money badly he should go now obviously...

Simply put, yes.

yes. Chris Ivory has more upside than Stevan Ridley right now.
fricking Josh Booty was an all-SEC QB. Don't you think Matt Cassel had more upside? Some of you need to take off the purple and gold glasses.
I'm not bashing Ridley here its just what I see. I can see him being on an NFL team but going above round 5 just seems like a stretch to me.

You really should ban yourself.

Just like Jimmy Graham (a guy who has barely played any football) has more upside than several people who made all-conference teams. You didn't pick a very strong argument.

Poor example. Graham wasnt underdrafted or missed. I think he was the 4th TE taken and thats about where he is at amoung rookies.

Not really, but I could have also used Antonio Gates.

That doesn't have anything to do with the amount of college football he played when compared to guys who made their all-conference team.

I'm sorry. I mean like Ridley and think he's a good back for LSU but I don't see what some people here see in this guy that will make him a 3rd round pick

He does. And he did coming out of college as well. And he didn't even get drafted.
If you're so sure tell me what's so great about Ridley that will get him drafted in the first 5 rounds.
