type of QB? Would it of hurt to give him a try? Its not like the QB's we use now produce alot of td's or offense.

Because Miles didn't want to destroy his confidence like he did to Lee

We could have. Poor foresight and personnel management by the staff.

I think it would be easier to make him into a Percy Harvin than a Darron Thomas.

most of the Rant thinks it's because he can't throw the ball

No one seems to believe the official story...that he chose to move to WR.

And the QB's we have now can?

He's got a LONG way to go.

Because except for a rare flash of brilliance, R. Shepard is pretty much a bust.
Posted on 12/27/10 at 3:10 pm to CatsGoneWild
Because he's not as good a QB as Darron Thomas

Gary Crowton couldn't even make Dennis Dixon into Dennis Dixon, how was he gonna do anything with Shep?

Gary Crowton did everything in his power to make Shepard's impact as minimal as possible on the offense. While I don't think he could have been a Percy Harvin, he certainly could have given some kind of spark to an offense that has been completley dead and lifeless for 3 years and counting.

For the same reason we can't make him Randy Moss. Let's make into Cam Newton.

You can simply stand the two of them side by side and realize that they are just not the same at all.
Harvin is much more physically imposing than Shepard

I'm not willing to go that far but this coming off-season will be the most critical of Shep's football life. With Landry and presumably OBJ coming in next season, Shep has to dramatically improve his hands or find himself benched and forgotten. I'm still hoping he'll get it done.

He's too small to do much as a receiver and displayed terrible hands.

A better question - What would Chip Kelly have done with Russell Shepard?
