It was much more refreshing watching Arsenal play against Chelsea than it was watching them against Man Utd. Two completely different teams...now the question is: was Arsenal's display great because they are that good or because Chelsea just suck donkey nuts? Either way; let's jut say of the two teams I'd rather Barca play in the UCL, Chelsea would be my first choice
Congrats on the win Gunners.

Arsenal really is loaded with attacking talent. In a Premier league that doesn't have a truly great team I don't see why they shouldn't finish second at least.
And I get that Diaby's been out for a while but that was a really tragic attempt to get a shot off.

Great game, but I'm not going to read too much into it. Our defense is much more stable with Djourou playing. It was good we actually tried some combo play against Chelsea. We seemed too afraid to try it against Man U. Hopefully this gives us confidence which is what we need the most.

We have players who can't use their weaker foot. Carlos Vela is another.

As a gunner this is great...I love watching them play when they are firing on all cylinders and, more importantly, are ruthlessly finishing. I will say that walcott looked nervous in the first half, but once he started trying to take cole on something clicked.
Nasri was all over the place causing problems. I'm not really sold on RVP, I think Chamakh is a better big man when it comes to shooting with either foot. RVP may have a great dominant foot, but his weak foot is absolute shite.
One last thing.........John Terry and Cashley Cole can suck it!!!!!!!

I think it mostly came down to Chelsea playing poorly. Which is about due time since we often outplay them and lose anyways. This time we outplayed them and won. I still want to see improvement from our defense, but they held everyone in check for the most part. I mean in the defensive midfield we need to cause more problems in the passing lanes.

Super Theooooo
Good match. Chelsea are completely out of sorts. The loss of Alex has been crucial. Ivanovic was the best right back in the world last year and carried Chelsea many games. His move to the center gives Chelsea nothing going forward on the right. Teams are pushing them that way and shutting down the left, which is where Chelsea was dominating early in the year.
Good game from the Arse. Leaving Arshavin off was a great call.

I hear the match is sch'd for March 1st...
By then we won't even be able to see the top of the table with a telescope. No heart, no emotion, no creativity, nothing. Terry and Ivan were the only players worth a dick today.

Chelsea are finally hitting the age wall. They've got no depth to cover for a slowing attack in Drogba, Lampard and Anelka. Kalou is mediocre, Kakuta is too young, and Sturridge is not the answer.
They haven't really bought an expensive player in awhile because City and Madrid have inflated the transfer market so much.

As they are the original inflators (and the purchasers of Shevchenko), I don't feel sorry for them. Their lack of depth is really shocking. Whenever bringing on Bosingwa is your second best attacking sub option, you have a serious problem.
I agree with Leauxgan. It was nice to see us outplay a Chelsea or ManU and actually get the desired result.

For some reason this makes me think of Don Henley singing 'Life in the Fast Lane'.

why is that, is he in bad form?

Yeah, and he doesn't track back. Both Nasri and Walcott tracked the fullbacks really well, giving us a nice defensive balance. It allowed Song and Wilshere to remain in the middle of the field.

the entire match yesterday reminded me of listening to "Luther Vandross - Never Too Much (ODahls K-Love Remix)" for the first time

I'm afraid you're right but damn it seemed to happen overnight. I mean this team won the double last year and started off the first 2+ months of this season on fire. I really don't think it's a coincidence this all started the day Ray Wilkins was inexplicably let go.

The local London paper sure pointed to that release as the catalyst.

They mentioned this during the game. That Wenger said they were too worried about losing instead of actually trying to win.
Reminds me why i get pissed off at the LSU coaching staff. When you got the attack of arsenal you should never let off the pedal. Regardless of what team ur playing.
