Les won't lead LSU to another championship, so I don't see what people are bitching about if we have a down year to end up with a better long term coach.

Les has proven time and time again that he can coach no better than a 2-loss season and with the way the landscape of college football is now, we aren't going to have another year like 2007 where his screw-ups will be bailed out by like 10 teams choking.

Les' only saving grace is his ability to recruit. He managed to get LSU on scholarship reductions even if he wasn't the one doing it. LSU is thus not a clean program under him like many choose to claim.

He's a great recruiter but a mediocre coach that has to be bailed out by his coordinators and players' talent.

In the end, I'd take a down year or two (8 wins or so) to have a coach that most fans actually have confidence in to bring LSU a championship, because Les definitely isn't that coach.

Next year's schedule will be even tougher than this years, and we are losing tons of key players, yet people actually think we have a legit NC shot. Why they think Les with entirely his recruits only is ever going to actually win a championship is beyond me.

Thanks Mafia. That is so refreshing to come on here and read a down to earth post instead of Miles loving crap like you pointed out about others saying they will be playing for the bcs championship. Eventually others will finally see the light.

LSU Mafia hits it right on the dime. Les is a fine person but he is just an average coach who will not bring us another SEC or National Champ Title. If he moves to Michigan then my response will be good bye thanks and Next head coach please step up to the Mic . Many more out there that are better and will be knocking at our door.

Look, I like Les, but I won't be hurt if he leaves. And mostly I agree with your post, but man we have 17 returning starters? You need to to pay attention to the GIVE part of PUFF, PUFF, GIVE. We are fricking stacked for the foreseable future.
