ETA - Spoilers.
I thought it was pretty obvious that she died.

NO. She dies. That is the whole f'ing point. It brings everything to a conclusion.
i'm sorry. that is just not so.
there can be a conclusion without her actually dying.
if she doesn't die, she has achieved perfection. she has driven herself to the point of madness. obviously, she will be removed from the ballet and maybe put in a psyche ward. her career = over. the importance is that she believes she's dying. just as it's important throughout that she believes she's being oppressed by her environment, her mother, and mila kunis's character.
if aranofsky wanted to show her as dead, he would show her as dead. the unreliable perspective throughout leaves it ambiguous.

Portman may well win an Oscar for her role in this movie.

The sexiest scene is Portman's solo, and even that has a pretty f'ed twist.
she was very convincing there.

Also, friend of mine says its clear that she dies. I do not think that is necessarily true. She could pass out from blood loss.
She dies IMO
Just like the white swan

I laughed out loud so much during the viewing of this film. People would turn around and hiss at me.
But I get dark humor so many of the scenes were hilarious to me.

also, don't understand how anyone would say that Portman hadn't had a fulfilling career. She's been wonderful in almost everything she's been in.
I thought everyone was talking about Winona?

damn you're cool.
I can't believe there are so many people that actually think she is not dead at the end.

I thought it was an excellent film - at the same time, I'm growing tired of "was this part real or wasn't this real?".

Saw it tonight and really enjoyed it. Definitely requires a second or third viewing.
Portman needs to make room for her Oscar.
