both have delusional fan bases that think there teams are a lot better than they are when both teams haven't been relevant in years

True, but all that matters is that they're a lot better this year, when they play us. I think we have better players, but they'll be ready to play come Jan 7.

The ole miss of the big 12??

Good god. Look we had a few good seasons, but essentially, sucked before ~1970. We were a small, all male military institute (which is the reason that like 3/4 of our 50 games against LSU were played in BR). Also, before scholarship limits were put in place, Texas gave 'ships to every single halfway decent athlete in the state.

Anyway, since 1972 when Emory Bellard and Aggie football officially arrived in the modern era, we are 295-168-3, which means we've won 63.3% of our games and lost 36.7%. And that includes the last decade, during which we've absolutely sucked (the football Gods were punishing us for firing RC).

I'm not sure what Ole Miss is like, but winning almost 2/3 of your games over the last 38 years isn't bad at all, especially considering we've been to 4 bowls since 2000

That's not absolutely superb, but it's a big step above mediocre (which is what I think you were trying to imply).

Also, we were a hair's breath away from winning a national title in 92 (or more likely splitting one), but 4-5 of our impact players (2 or 3 starting OL a starting RB, and maybe a starting DT) were suspended before our bowl game against #5 ND because of an article some longwhorn journalist wrote about how we were giving improper benefits (the same journalist was nowhere to be found a few years earlier when Texas was paying players out the nose). Long story short, we got crushed 24-7 or 24-3 or something. But we were a hair's breath away from winning the big one that year.

I see Okie State being more like Ole Miss, but it's probably a toss up. All three seem to win a seemingly unwinable game every year, but never win THE big one. And they each get marginal national respect.

I love how all Aggie fans dont count anything before F'ing scholarship limits. So lets throw out your only NC and Heisman winner since those were back in WWII.

Texas owns you, live with it.

Not a good comparison, although I see what you want to convey.

A&M just needs back to back top 10 classes and just dominate Houston and they'd be back to a top 10 team as they were 2 decades ago.

Ole Miss wished it had a Houston to pull from and wishes it has played in a conference title game.

The BIG difference is that, like UGA, they should have been better over the recent years. They have the facilities, the support, the money, and if you watched the ESPN 30 for 30 "Pony Excess," you know they've had the booster "support."

Ole Miss is a pretender in most of these categories. A&M is not.

Ole Miss sucks and lost to Jacksonville State. It's fans like you who are taking this game too lightly. Vegas has this as a pick.

But the haggies coach said they are relevant. Doesn't that count for something?
