Best rookie QB ever? or best ever season by a rookie QB? Or am I being a little dramatic here? I know seasons are measured with W's, but I'm just going by his numbers at the moment.
Sam Bradford. If his rookie season has any implications on how his career would turn out (like most do), he's going to be another MAJOR franchise QB. I honestly didn't think he would be this good considering the system at Oklahoma and coming off a shoulder injury. If it weren't for Drew Brees, I would never say I would welcome him with open arms any day of the week.
Bradford is projected 3,537 23/13/60%. Someone remind me of another rookie QB that has been just as good or better.
Kid has an extremely high ceiling barring injuries.

Ben Rapelessburger had a QB rating of almost 100 his rookie year and that team won 15 games. He gets my vote for best rookie QB/best season for a rookie QB

Bradford is going to be a big time NFL QB when it is all said and done. Barring injuries.

Rapelessburger was asked to do a fraction of what Sam Bradford has done. Considering the situations both walked in to I think what Bradford has done is far more exceptional. I'm not looking the stats up, but I guarantee Bradford's numbers crush Ben's.

Ben went 13-0 as a starter. 2621 yards, 17 TD's against 11 INT. QB rating of 98.1. 8.9 yards per attempt. Steelers went 15-1, a 9 game turnaround from the previous season
Bradford has been excellent and came into a worse situation, but Ben had a better season and his stats are the best all time for a rookie QB

I would have though Matt Ryan would have been on that list too..he had a pretty solid rookie year.

does he play on defense? Wins are a team stat.
The correct answer is Dan Marino
He played in 11 games:
173 296 58.4 2210 20 6

....and looking at his numbers, I may have to agree.

Maybe so, but wasn't more the defense winning more than it was Ben?

Bradford already has more yards in one less game, a slightly better TD to interception ratio, and will be single handedly responsible for a 7-8 game tomorrow around from the previous year. I still say Bradford trumps Big Ben.

quote:yea mostly a strong running game and great D, however Ben made a lot of big plays that a lot of people forget. His ability to avoid sacks and scramble led to a lot of big downfield passing plays. just look at his Y/A of about 9. That's excellent and above average for a veteran pro bowler
the defense winning more than it was Ben?

quote:yea I'm not demeaning Bradford because I think he's having a great year, I just think ben's is better. Ben only started 13 games his rookie year or he would have eclipsed 3000 yards and 20 TD's. Bradford likely wont come close to Ben's QB rating and is a full 3 yards behind his yards per attempt

He's shockingly good.
I was a critic as well.
Peyton Manning had impressive rookie numbers too... but the lack of picks is really what's impressive for Bradford.

I thought Bradford was the "surest" thing to come out of college as a QB in a LONG LONG time.
Never understood how people thought he wouldn't succeed in the NFL. He was so accurate it was literally unfair for College kids. Not only that, he was throwing the ball down the field.
And he also showed moxy and toughness. I'll never forget the dive into the endzone vs Okie State. Giving it up for his team.
Which WR do you think would best fit him ? AJ? Julio? Floyd? Blackmon?

Julio?
If his hands didn't turn into bricks at times, I would say him.
I personally love the big physical WR's rather than the tall lanky fast ones.
