I've been to all these LSU bowl games, and my favorite bowl game was the Sugar Bowl win over Illinois because IMO that was the year LSU was officially back on the map in terms of becoming an elite program again.

2001 Sugar Bowl LSU 47 Illinois 34
2002 Cotton Bowl Classic Texas 35 LSU 20

2004 Capital One Bowl Iowa 30 LSU 25
2005 Peach Bowl LSU 40 Miami (FL) 3
2006 Sugar Bowl LSU 41 Notre Dame 14
2007 BCS National Championship Game LSU 38 Ohio State 24
2008 Chick-Fil-A Bowl LSU 38 Georgia Tech

I was at the 2004 Cap One bowl. It was my first LSU bowl game. My wife is from Iowa. We were walking around holding hands with the different shirts on. People were smiling at us saying someone would be sleeping on the sofa tonight. I was heartbroken at the outcome. But we had a great time anyway.

Exactly, which is why the 2002 Sugar Bowl is the hat I wear the most.

However, though I've been to every Sugar Bowl in my lifetime in which LSU played, my favorite will always be the 2007 BCSCG. Sitting in the OSU section, having to listen to people's sarcastic bullshite in the first quarter and then watching my dad torture their fans when LSU began to dominate will always hold a sacred place in my heart. The guy sitting next to him actually got up out of his seat during the third quarter and watched the rest of the game from the aisle.

Solid. Fricking. Gold. Baby.
