Alright, you guys seem to know your Star Wars book knowledge. If I wanted to start reading some of the books, where would be a good place to start? Sci/fi is my favorite movie and book genre so any and all help would be appreciated.

Also, I would prefer them to be decently intelligent reads. I'd like to avoid anything kid oriented.

Always start your EU (Extended Universe) reading with the Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn. Zahn is everything Lucas wants to be.

Zahn builds Luke into the character he should have been as well.
