What if he doesn't think it was a cull buck. Culls are up to interpretation. I would hate to get in a pissing match with a ignorant warden about the age of a deer or if it was a cull or not.

Tom, I read an article (somewhere) that stated that inadequate bucks (small racks) bred a high majority of the does. This can not happen.

antler restrictions statewide then it wouldn't be worth the effort down here.
I must have misread your post,,, so you're stating that you are happy and satisfied with the way things are and that no changes are needed and certainly not worth any effort?

Seen plenty redneck tobacco spitters dragging out buttonheads strapped to their folding paint ladders. Stereotype some?

You did misread his post, he wasn't suggesting leaving things like they are statewide. Just because you are from N LA doesn't intital you to the refuge any more than anyone else, you don't own it and if you have been hunting there since you were born it might be you who screwed it all up. Remember us coonasses only go once a year.

This is ridiculous.

When the Feds took over this place it was the envy of many hunters. Now not so much.

I knew we'd catch a coonass

Dude y'all may go up once a year, but it is common knowledge that y'all blast the woods down and it's twice a year btw. Other than that, we have to bow hunt it.

I've actually never been to Tensas but have been to many N LA wma's. I just find it comical for you to say that the coonasses shoot up the woods more than the hungry tobacco spitters. You must be a La Tech fan also.

No, you misread his post. He was saying that in his part of the country, changes to antler restrictions would not work and that it wouldn't be worth the effort...Well, if you're not willing to make changes, or at least try, then STFU..

Redneck tobacco spitters with folding paint ladders?? Hello stereotype pot, meet kettle.

As I stated in the other thread about antler restriction, I know many hunters from NELA that have killed and will gladly kill many more truckloads of 5 pt and less.

Tasseaux, I think the take home message is, thru mismanagement of the refuge deer pop and overabundance of bears, during the lottery hunt you are lucky to see 1 deer so the result is if its brown its down (be it a hungry tobacco spittin redneck on a folding ladder or boudreaux wearing white shrimpin boots hollerin aaaaaaayeeeeeee), considering the potential for the place, it is sad.

Tom, we can agree on this. I just get my feathers ruffled when the depletion of deer in NELA is blamed on the orange clad coonass army. We both know the problem is mis-management. I really hate that for ya'll, having a place that close with that kind of potential but with managers causing a cluster ****.
