Say Zona pulls off the unthinkable and beat Oregon. That would put LSU at 4. Then Boise loses later. Now LSU to 3. LSU wins tom. and they stay at 3. If Clemson beats USC tom. and then somehow USC beats AU in the secg. Why would AU only drop one spot after losing to a 4 loss team? I know AU beat LSU, but is it inconceivable for the voters to drop AU more than 1 spot after losing to USC?

It's not like Aubie blew us out...the game was close

Your scenario has everybody except TCU with 1 loss.

How can Auburn at 12-1, in the SEC, with victories over five (?) ranked teams and 10 (?) bowl teams, drop that far?

I'm just saying, if you try to rank the 1 loss teams objectively, how does Auburn not come out on top? Depending on how badly they lose to S. Carolina obviously.

I understand penalizing late losses more harshly, but it's tough to dismiss Auburn at this point.

It would take a blowout loss for Auburn for LSU to jump them IMO.

I think our best shot is to beat Arkansas convincingly, jump to #5 in both human polls, and see if we can jump Boise - TCU in BCS, and Oregon lose tonight.

its when you loose that can hurt you the most.that would be a death punch to Auburn as far as the NC game is concerned.

At this point I just want LSU at #4 in the BCS, so we get a BCS bowl.

I would like to think that the NCA expedites it's Cam Newton investigation and makes Auburn forfeit all it's wins as a result BEFORE the SECCG.

I would like our chances then. Not taking anything away from SC, which is a worthy team.

What would happen is LSU would be left out of the BCS altogether. Just wake up tomorrow and hope that the Tigers can beat a very good Arkansas team on their home field.

Some pretty questionable calls there in the first half when I was watching...helmet to helmet looked BS.

48-22 in the 4th...Oregon is pulling away, and the final score will be ugly. No matter how much I would "like" to see LSU in the national championship game, Auburn and Oregon have played well and deserve to at this point.

You're right, but really, we're good, but not that good. Not this year.

There's been way too much inconsistency. If you could pick and choose moments from the season so far, LSU has played some damn good football, but as a whole, it's been kinda sloppy. The offense has only had about 3 good games plus a few random drives here and there that kept hope alive that they'd bust out. The defense has played exceptionally well minus the points given up last week, and the yardage allowed to Auburn and Ole Miss.

With all that said, I'm very proud to be an LSU grad and fan. While there are many things that we all like to complain about in regards to the football program, it sure could be worse (Texas, USC, Notre Dame, Georgia, Tennessee).

I'm all for the idea of LSU playing for the NC but I think we should just focus on Arky and let the rest take care of itself.

At this point, forfeit is the only weapon of mass self destruction that we can hope for from Auburn.
I hope it shows up on time.
