For the guys that have used one, I want your opinions. I fried a turkey with one yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. The meat came out really juicy and very flavorable while the skin was crispy. Turned out ver well.....

Same here. Probably one of the best turkeys I've ever eaten.

How did you fry a turkey with no oil?

It's acually more of a roasted effect. But it possess all of the characteristics of a fried turkey once it's cooked... Juicy, crispy skin, etc........

My wife's cousin did one of those and fried a whole mess of turkeys. The roasted turkey was the best by far.

I'm debating whether to get my pops one of these for xmas or a regular fryer pot... Whats the process with this thing? All you have to do is drop the turkey in a dry pot and it does its thing? Was the infrared turkey as moist as the oil fried turkey?

Basically, you put the turkey in the cooking chamber and forget it. Just check the temp of the proetein until the desired termperature.
The turkey I cooked in it was the most moist turkey I've ever eaten including deep fried....
I think it would make a great gift. I'm very satisfied with mine.. Also, it's not only limited to turkeys....

I haven't read a negative thing about it yet, may have to go pick one up at lowes.

Season your bird and put it in the basket and watch the thermometer. I mowed my yard at the same time.

I'll put one in and you can mow my lawn while it's cooking. I'll give you a leg.

It doesn't really fry it. It is really an infrared cooker that uses propane. The result is very similar to fried turkey, although maybe not quite as crispy. I cooked 1 turkey in my Big Easy and 1 on the grill this year - I think the "fried" turkey came out better.
