Personally, I admire the dude who will hold to his position whether the times are good or bad. I took loads of shite for being the "sunshine pumper" and it irks me that the same people who gave me shite then are nowhere to be found now.

You are missing the point. To me the term negatiger refers to someone who has only bad things to say about the LSU team, coaching staff and program. Occasional criticism is, when deserved perfectly understandable, but there are some who have invested a lot of mental energy toward the constant criticism of every little detail regarding the team, the program and Les Miles personally.
