Following is what we need to realistically get in the BCSCG conversation:

THIS WEEK
Friday afternoon - Alabama beats Auburn (game @ Bama)
Friday night - Arizona beats Oregon (this does not have to happen, Oregon could lose next week @ OregonSt)
Friday night - Nevada beats Boise (game @ Nevada)
Saturday - LSU beats Arkansas
Saturday - We want nothing to change in Big10 3-way tie situation OR Michigan State to win the Big10
Saturday - Oklahoma beats Oklahoma State (not necessary if Nebraska beats Okie State in Big12 title game next week)

NEXT WEEK
-If Arizona didn't beat Oregon last week, OregonSt HAS to beat Oregon this week (game @ OregonSt)
-South Carolina beats Auburn in SECCG
-Oklahoma or Nebraska win the Big12 (not Oklahoma State)

RESULT
Either LSU or Wisconsin plays TCU for the BCS Championship!

I'm a realist, and know it's a long shot ... It truly is. Hell, even if all that happens, there's a good chance Wisconsin goes over us. But it sure would be fun to still be having this discussion going into the final week of the regular season.

Nevade beating Boise would be huge. I really think bama beats auburn. I dont see anyone beating Oregon before the NC game.

2007 was a longshot too. So I also have my hopes up that the impossible can happen again

Cal over Oregon was the one we needed. And I agree, Oregon probably doesn't lose.

But Arizona and Oregon State will come to play, wouldn't surprise me one bit if one of them knocked off Oregon. It would be a huge upset, no doubt, but certainly nothing of the like of Pitt-WV 2007 ... Pitt was awful that year. At least Oregon State and Arizona are decent.

Even if we're 3 in human polls, the computers will boost us over the "Eat shite, frick Yous" of Camp Randle

if that all happens Wisky will not get in over LSU. No way. Their computer ranking is way too low.

I doubt all those stars line up.... but hey would be fun if it did!!!

I am really concerned about the Arky game. Only hope, is our Tigers have not played a complete game yet this year (save the second half against bama) if they ever play lights out for one game ( Les usually gets one a year) watch the frick out!!!

Yeah, at the end of the day, we need to just take care of Arky.

If we finish 11-1, I'll be happy to let the cards fall where they may, because it will be an absolutely tremendous season for LSU, no question.

If all that were to happen, I'm afraid some voters would "drop" LSU just to allow the Big10 champion into the BCSCG. Because as it stands now, LSU is obviously above the Big10 champ in the BCS and will stay that way unless the human voters decide to start dropping LSU. Obviously, Wisc is already above us in the human polls, so it's not like they could jump LSU with Wisconsin ... they would have to drop LSU to prevent LSU from getting into the BCSCG.

IMO if you can't win your own conference (much less your division), you have no business in the title game. It sucks lsu has come sooo close this year and I'd love to see us get a shot at winning it all, but that's just how it is

I'm on the delusional homer train with you JP. I'm looking forward to bumping my LSU clock prediction thread I posted in September.

The media have already crowned Wisconsin big 10 champ. Excellent for lsu because we're already way ahead of them in the bcs.

If that situation plays out, LSU is going and the computers will carry them there even if the humans aren't on board

Hey, I agree with you.

But I'm an LSU fan, so I don't feel guilty one bit about changing my stance to benefit LSU.

I said after the Bama game, I think this year is not as much of a longshot as 2007. I think all of the things you said in the first post are very possible.

Here we go!
