Ok im done with season four. I quit while this season was on TV, now im going to try and finish the whole series. Five and Six to go.
So this is the season where "flash forwads" start to take place and the Oceanic 6 come home towards the end of the season.
Im not going to lie, I stopped watching because of crap like the episode where Jack is not feeling to good. (Da da dummmm back ground music) So ol girl is like "whats wrong?" (more da da dum) and Jack is all like "its my appendix." and she was "you know what this means right?" and Jackie boy was like "yeah." (da dum da dum da dum daaaaaaaaaa) "im going to need an appendectomy." (DUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMM) Cue the floating LOST sign.
I felt like I was watching CSI Miami and Jack was Horatio.
It wouldnt be so bad if they didnt build rediculous drama before EVERY commercial break.
Then ending to season 4 was very lame imo.
But Sayeeeed, Brother and Sawyer never fail to disappoint in being awesome characters and are really the only thing keeping me going at this point. Though I fear Desmond is a gonner.
Anyways... Where does season four rank on the scale of 1-6? Are seasons 5 & 6 better? Should I stop while im ahead?

Just finished re-watching all the seasons again. I thought season 4 ranks fourth out of the six seasons. I thought season 5 was the worst by far; it seemed to lack in connecting the characters with any kind of emotional storylines. A lot of it just felt forced to me. Season 6 is entertaining mostly from a "how will it end aspect."

i think the exact opposite... i know it gets out there, but i find seasons 4 and 5 absolutely great.
3 was good but far too long IMO.... too much filler.
1 is the standard.
2 is pretty good
6 is great for the diehard... i am a diehard... alot of things not answered but i am ok with that.

I agree. I would say the OP should finish watching just to see how it ends, but not get his hopes up. I was highly disappointed.

I was a huge diehard. But the unanswered things bothered me and I hated the ending. There was really no way for them to end it pleasing everyone though.

only because they fricked up by introducing too much crap.
LOST = major fail on the part of the writers in terms of long term planning for the show

i loved all the seasons but i think it's because i watched them all on netflix instead of having to wait a week between episodes

I can agree with that. I don't want to go into any details and ruin it for the OP if he wants to finish the series.

STOP NOW! You're wasting your time.

Not necessarily. Plenty of people liked how it ended, and even though I didn't, I wouldn't have been satisfied stopping after season 4.

Season 1 - great
Season 2 - started off intriguing, ended up mostly pointless and subpar with a few very good episodes here and there
Season 3 - started slow with a lot of filler episodes but finished relatively strong
Seasons 4/5 - pretty good, you actually get a sense that they were finally trying to advance the story with some VERY terrific episodes during these seasons
Season 6 - disappointing

That's funny that you posted this because I'm right in the midst of season 4 right now and thinking the same thing. I don't know how many more emotional close ups with soft piano accompaniment I can take. I thought season one and two were great. I'm gonna try and finish out the show just because I want to see how it all plays out, but it's getting to be tough going.

Season 5 is on Netflix instant so I might start it. But its like Dexter season 2 is sitting on my shoulder whispering "dude im awesome and that show is freaking gay. Watch me."
I kind of have a feeling of where this is going. I'm thinking Jacks dad is like an angel or something. Because when Micheal stayed with the bomb to save Jin and the others, Jacks dad pops up out of nowhere and was like "you passed" or "you did well." Like he was about to go to heaven or something.

I forgot to mention how the perfect sweat patterns on everybodys t-shirts and daniel farraday keeping his tie on is strting to drive me crazy.
And how did the Oceanic 6 have like spotless and pressed clothing for the return trip home on the plane?
