we win out with authority,
auburn loses somewhat ugly to bama
and oregon loses.

otherwise, it's boise and tcu playing, and i can't imagine pollsters want that for a 3rd straight year.

i'm assuming lsu jumps auburn just like florida state jumped nd several years back, despite losing to nd at nd (then nd lost to bc).

No way does LSU get into the championship game without winning their division, let alone a SEC championship.

OP made a solid argument. That appears to be our only chance.

No one wants a TCU-Boise BCSNC so if we happen to be #3 things could happen with the human polls.

Tat least there's a glimmer of hope left

Everything else will "fall into place" (See 2007).

Are we assuming that Oregon loses here? It sounds like it. A one loss LSU could have jumped an undefeated TCU if we won the SEC, but that can't happen anymore. Too many things have to happen for us to jump to 1 or 2 after Auburn represents the SECW in GA... and most of those scenarios would work out badly for LSU in the bigger bowl picture. I tend to agree that the only hope LSU has is the NCAA smacking Auburn down, which seems a long shot now.

Am I wrong in thinking the only chance we have of getting into a BCS bowl (vice the Cotton or Cap one)is Auburn going all the way to the BCSNC? I'm a HUGE longshot positiger, but I gotta say I'm adjusting my expectations and focusing towards the Sugar. Watching Auburn win yesterday was just disgusting.

(lsu wins out, auburn loses by 10+ to bama, and oregon loses):

given tcu's and boise's weak-arse schedule,
if they play for it all, what does that say about strength of schedule from here on out? - why schedule anybody tough out of conference if the goal is to win it all?

It wont happen. Just assume pull for Auburn so we don't get stuck in the Cotton Bowl or Capitol One Bowl. I want Boise in the Sugar Bowl.
