2 time outs, 1st and 10 at our 43...clock stops for first down.

why not take a time out?

we did run a play, but clock ran out on it. just a small thing, but could have potentially gotten a chance at 3.

Just didn't want to risk a mistake..Get into half close and make changes needed to win.

In reality, we won.

Are you saying Miles clock management was suspect? Well that's news to the board.

And you have had how long to think about this?

I get what is being said here. It's the kind of things that have had me pulling my hair out all season. Three points could have made the difference in a W and an L.

That being said, I'm not losing sleep over it. It's what we've got in Les and I'm trying to appreciate his positives and let his negatives stop bothering me so damn much.

I aint worried about it. Les obviously knows what he's doing.

How does the ball being at our 43 with 10 seconds to go make it likely we could potentially try for 3? It takes 7-8 seconds to run a normal 10-15 yard play, this would had to have been a deep pass attempt, and if completed and any tackle initiated the clock would have run out anyway.

We ran a play, conservative, but a play. I'm ok with it since you're taking a good risk of piksix with barely enough time to get the 2 plays off.
What would you be posting if Miles took a chance and it went sour?

I was screaming it at the TV on Saturday the moment it happened.

And yes, I do find it kinda interesting that a fan 5-6 beers in is aware enough of the game situation to recognize this...but no one on staff did. Even if you don't go for it, why not take TO to discuss it?

Considering we did run a pass play, we werent too scared about a possible mistake.

And yes, we did win and our coaching staff did an AWESOME job. Just a small mistake (of the type we've seen before)

Yes, it was unbelievable and terrible that we didn't call a TO after the first down run

Judgement call for sure. Nothing to condem or be critical of in my opinion.

There was no judgment. We were trying to get in position to score on that drive. We were trying to get in position to score on the next play. It was very bad and there is plenty to be critical of

Nothing new with Les... clock management issues... but he does find a way to win. I will take it.

There was no need to do anything risky at that time. We did what was smart: go into halftime with a bit of momentum and come out swinging in the 2nd half.

after reading some of the responses, i'll say, fair enough, might have been good to have the TO but no real loss.

it was probably just that at the moment it happened, i thought timeout and seeing it again reminded me.

ya'lls replies, plus thinking about how great a coached game it was, changed my mind.

This is not what we did. That would have been an inside draw. We threw the ball

So? We didn't make any mistakes. What else could you ask for?
