Anyone have one or heard of it. Its basically a homemade soda machine. Its 80 bucks for the whole setup and then you refill your CO2 cartridge at retail locations when it runs out and they have a ton of flavors you can add to it.

Its pretty popular in Europe but they drink a lot of carbonated water. Not sure if it would take of here in america. What does the OT think? It has the environment factor going with not wasted cans and the soft drink mixes have less calories than traditional sodas.

Why just just buy a fountain machine and put actual coke in in

You obviously dont make the requisite income to be posting. You should know that by now.

But seriously, how pissed would u be if you paid 80 bucks for the machine, whatever the syrup costs and the cola is garbage. Thats sip of bad coke for $100. Go with what is good.

I have one and love it. I bought it at Sam's last year and it came with a whole bunch of different soda flavors...some where better than others. They actually have an energy drink mix that isn't too bad. I bought the machine because I love to drink club soda and tonic water and they generally are more expensive than plain coke, etc. The machine came with two 1-liter bottles that I keep full of water in the fridge so I can quickly carbonate a bottle and add whatever flavor I want.

Sur la Table in Perkin's Rowe carries the replacement cartridges and most of the soda flavors. A cartridge will last quite a while (few months at least, depending on usage.) I usually carbonate a bottle and add some of their citrus flavoring (no calories) or whatever you want. The Torani brand of syrups come in both sugared and sugar free varieties and you can add them to your soda to make it taste however you want.

My upstairs neighbor has one and loves it. We go through about ten-fifteen bottles of soda water (lemon lime) in a week, sometimes more, so I'll be getting one of the machines this week as it will save me some money, and I won't be wasting all those plastic bottles.

I like mine, I just carbonate filtered water and add some fresh squeezed lime juice. It only takes a few seconds and I get no calorie, no caffeine drinks almost free.
