I have a customer that is a guide and said that teal season was great. He hunts out of Buras, so I would think Venice will be really good based upon water levels and temps up North.

I'm thinking next week, we will start to see a lot more ducks down here. Getting pretty cold up north right now. Hell, it's supposed to hit freezing in Batesville this weekend

Freezing and locked-up freezing are two different things. We will see. The rain in the Delta this past week could mean trouble down South.

Very true. I doubt anything but little puddles get a little ice on them here. If it rains a lot up here what does that do to hunting down that way? Curious...

As of last week there were birds down there but the "big" push hadn't gotten there yet. I suspect the big push will get there today and it will be all set for next weekend.

Wish I had a "ute" as I'd love to be down there this weekend with this weather. Oh well next weekend will get here soon enough.

The birds are down, guys, and in legit numbers. I'm hearing from multiple folks in SW La that the specks are just crazy right now compared to recent years. Also, this rain helped a few guys out who desperately needed it but was not even a drop in the bucket from what we had to deal with last year with widepsread flooding. Not worried about it at all; plus a lot of birds already bypassed the dry areas in favor of the marshes. It's going to be ON, good luck out there
