Michigan Going After Miles?

I just talked with a guy that I met here in Montgomery. He's a big Michigan fan. Okay, so no "link" but this was a personal conversation. I asked him what he thought of RichRod and he said that he's hearing that he's gone. They're done with him. He didn't know that I was an LSU fan at first (we were at a Starbucks) so I asked him who he thought they were going after.
He said that he was hearing that they are going to go after Miles pretty hard. He said that there were positive views of Miles up there, he has won a lot of games, a national championship, was a great recruiter, ran a clean program, and coached with courage. He said that he liked Miles.
I told him that LSU fans would be happy to hear that since most LSU fans couldn't stand Miles. He was confused and thought Miles was a good coach and would be a good fit at Michigan.
Take it for what it's worth, but the guy was pretty knowledgeable and expressed a positive view of Miles and how Michigan people saw him at this point. Of course, this is nothing official, but I thought that it was at least as substantive as most of the stuff I see here and it was positive toward Miles instead of negative.
Could it be that at the end of this season, both Colorado AND Michigan come after Miles to be their coach?

Don't let them know we don't like him. You gotta sell it. Oh please let it be true!

By the end of the season Miles will have committed several more bonehead blunders.

Okay, believe what you want. I'm sitting here right now. The guy walks in with a Michigan sweatshirt on and I started talking to him. You don't see many Michigan shirts in Montgomery, but this is a military town, so we have people here from all over the world. I thought I'd ask him what he thought. I'm still sitting at a little table by the window on my laptop trying to get some work done, but I got real excited about the conversation and wanted to tell the Rant what he said.
At the end of the day, it is meaningless as any kind of fact. It just gives us a sense of what other fanbases are thinking and saying. Thought it was interesting so I posted it.

Seriously, when you hear this kind of stuff just go along with it.
Nod your head and say, "Well, when mama calls" or something like that.

sounds to me that you were conversing with a fan that doesn't read/watch anything about football. probably just a michigan bandwagon dude who doesn't know who their kicker is.
know what i mean?
for those who haven't heard any negativity about miles in the media are just people who SAY they love football.

Yeah, good idea for the future. I guess I was in a bit of shock. We need to print a script for what LSU fans should say in case they run into anyone from Michigan or Colorado in the next month or so.
Miles is awesome.
GREAT gameday coach.
Wonderful manager of talent.
Well spoken.
Inspires confidence in the fanbase.
He really is a good man, good recruiter, and has a great winning percentage. We probably should develop talking points, though, to dress up the resume.
But, then again, I don't believe in lying so I guess I should just focus on the positives and move on.

Or more likely, he is someone who IS very well connected and knows that they are sick of RichRod and knows that Michigan people have a positive view of Miles at this point. Look, I am in Montgomery, AL. You don't "bandwagon" for Michigan here. I get comments about my LSU shirts and hats when I wear them. This place is all Alabama/Auburn, for the most part.
Who is "bandwagoning" Michigan right now anyway? And, if they didn't know who their kicker was, how in the world are they going to throw Les Miles' name out about a replacement for Rodriguez?
Like I said, we have a lot of military here. He fit that mold with his size and haircut. Looked like he had been out running. I think that it is far more likely that he was a legitimate Michigan fan who knew what was going on in the Michigan community, just like I would know stuff about LSU even though I live in Alabama.
Or, maybe he's just reflecting message board chatter. Either way, it was interesting to hear his perspective.

I just spoke to some dude wearing a cowboys hat. He said Saban is a lock to be the next coach. I trust him.
I know he's legit because he was wearing cowboys gear. No way he wasn't well connected.
