narrowing down the rotation

i realize the season is young and monty is trying to get a look at everyone, but i am a fan of the 8-9 man rotation (at least for the hard games). i see us narrowing it down to a ten man rotation in the next couple of games, barring a trade. what do you think?
i like
cp
belinelli
ariza
west
okafor
bayless
green
thornton
mbenga
i think smith is trash even if he knocks down a few jumpers. our last great success came a few years ago when we played small ball on teams a la pargo and paul etc.

That looks good to me, but when is Aaron Gray coming back?

you're going to need another big in there..

i realize we will have to play another big, but i would like to avoid it unless there is foul trouble. smith hesitates, and never seems to know where we are in the shot clock. pops just cant seem to get his foot in the door. grey is still such a mystery.

Yeah I agree we have issues with backup bigs, hopefully the forthcoming trade will fix that.
But I wouldn't give Mbenga more than 12 minutes a game. You can't play Oak for 40+ minutes a night.

playing oka 40 mins a night would def break him down.maybe another available big down the line?son

i think Williams will stick with using his whole bench for a good part of the season since it seems like it is working
Thornton - 6th man of the year
Smith - nice midrange game
Green - leader
Mbenga - shot blocker
Bayless -fast and creates his shot
pops - hustler
peja - probably be traded
You will see an improved bayless not turning the ball over on Wednesday since he has had a chance to practice and prepare

He looked bad in his first couple games, but I will withhold judgment until he gets a couple of weeks within the organization. I think he'll turn it around.
It didn't take Thornton long to bust out of his preseason slump. He'll be a solid contributor all year and will be counted on to score.
I'm not sure what to think of Green yet. So much negativity was around him before the season started, but I can see him being a solid bench contributor.
I think Smith will improve as well. He struggled so far, but we'll need his seven feet to come off the bench.
Not impressed with Mbenga, never was. Hopefully he'll provide us with some defense and not turn the ball over or foul too much.
I wanna see Pops break out, but it may be a pipe dream. I think we'll at least get a couple of highlight oops out of him.
Peja - gone. If not, hopefully he'll come in, hit some threes, and head back to the bench.

Smith can play. Solid backup to D West imo.

I don't know for sure about Monty, but a lot of coaches like to employ a little more flexibility until the playoffs. With this team still finding itself, I'm thinking we'll be seeing 10 players get some time most nights.

Yeah the 7-9 rotation doesn't really start until the playoffs, when starters play huge minutes. Lots of teams play 10-12 players a night if they have the depth until the playoff run.
Man, your rotation isn't doable. No backup PF in that bunch. You NEED to have Smith in there.

Remember, Monty is a Popovich system guy. Pop uses many guys and many rotations until the second half where he starts to get into a set rotation.
