Tigerfan, I've read your post over the last week or so. You dimiss anyone who doesn't agree with you precieved wisdon on all matters football and I guess life. Let me tell you I have been a Miles supporter since his hire. I have been around long enough to see the ebb and flow of college football, and to know that Miles must make changes. The problem you run into and the problem I guess you are addressing when you say the "kids" and let me add I don't disagree is the extrmist who go to great lengths to bash Miles and the program they are supposed to support. What I'm telling you is people are frustrated and you can bring out all the records and stats you want it dosen't change where we are now. Which is 7-1 with a very poor looking offense which does not give LSU fans confidence we can beat the hated Saban. Spin it how you want but the Coaches have not to date done their job to improve this team on one side of the ball. Miles is accountable, I don't bash him constantly, I'm not calling for him to be fired, I'm calling for him to make the changes he needs to make to bring this team to where we want it to be. But with the recent history it does not look like he is the man to do it. That is my point he has lost the confidence in most of the fan base, if he beats Bama my mind will change, but lose and it only gets worse.

that says everything about you if you change your opinion on one game after 6 years...good or bad. I simply point out facts.....i use facts to disagree with people....not opinion...my opinion is not worth a frick.....i'm not even a huge miles fan....but the facts...if you are intelligent and have reasoning ability...you can't ignore the facts which reflect the results of both coaches...no matter how differently they may have gotten them.

Let's see what happens next Saturday.

Bottom line is Saban took over a losing program and got us our 1st National Championship in almost 50 years.

Miles took over a winning program with tons of talent and won a BCS.

However, the trend in 2008 and 2009 was a decline in quality of play and losses. Simultaneously, Saban took over a down AL program and went over 2 regular seasons with no losses and a BCS. While LSU played undisciplined, made mistakes and lost games, Saban immediately took AL in the opposite direction.

The "we are our own worse enemy" trend lingers into Year 3, coincidentally since the Saban recruits graduated.

You are comparing apples to oranges when you talk about the condition of our program when Saban took over to when Miles took over.

Just my opinion -if Miles had been hired instead of Saban, LSU never would have won a BCS or had such a successful streak. What pisses people off is the perception that Saban builds Elite and winning programs while Miles has a hard time sustaining an elite program that he took over.

Let the season play out and look at the full 3 year results. If we nose dive (as we have the past 2 years) in the back 5 games of the season, LSU will have a trend of not playing to potential due to the coaches. If we win out, there is obviously no concern.

The situation will take care of itself.

You're exactly right about changing one's opinion on one game.

But, when you willingly ignore the evidence put before you in regards to clock and game management, and stick your head in the ground, and continuously give the benefit of the ever, growing doubt, you are just as ignorant, IMO.

Our discussion on this matter is futile. A change is imminent, and the bounce of a blind, over the shoulder pass, in conjunction with a botched, last play defensive penalty, has more than likely set our program back, yet another season. That would be an easier burden to bear, if Florida and Tennessee were worthy this year.

Miles stands a chance to ride this out, but it would require him to have as much input on offense as he does defense. It's still too late for this season, but in the hands of someone capable, our offense could be serviceable enough to win a championship. But, I no longer give Miles enough credit to realize this.

Your "facts' do not take into account the program when each became head coach. Saban resurrected LSU football and elevated the program to a level that most of us have never known. I don't know how the program was viewed in the late 50's but I doubt it was viewed as a powerhouse top 5 program. Saban made LSU relevant and brought LSU a level of respect to the rest of the nation and SEC. Pre Saban LSU had some good years but usually they weren't sustained. LSU was more known for having a rowdy stadium then a great team. You claim your intelligent and anyone who doesn't agree with your "facts" are idiots to me that makes you sound like the idiot.

You can't even grasp the fact that Saban came in and took over a losing program but you want to compare Miles on the same level that is ignorant.

Then you say not to compare Saban at bama to Miles at LSU and your only comparing what each did at LSU. Why? Is it b/c your arguement would lose all credibility if you compared the last 3 years? Then you throw in the losses to UAB and ULM (why throw in the ULM loss that was at bama it appears you decide what to use to justify your arguement). Once again Saban not only built a program into a national champion he did it in the SEC. For all the people who claim how good of a recruiter Miles is please tell me how well he recruited at Ok. St. Whether you like it or not Miles benefitted from everything Saban did at LSU. Saban began locking down the state and keeping most of the talent here does anyone truly believe Miles could have done the same? I don't.
Do you think Miles would have won a national title or even a conference championship for that matter had he remained at Ok. St.? Hell no! I am sure most people will respond that LSU is a better program than Ok. St.

I don't like Miles as a coach and I love everything saban did for LSU so according to the positigers I am a negatiger. I am pretty sure I want them to win as much as anyone else and I know I can't stand it when they lose so I really don't care what I am labeled.

Is LSU more respected across the nation now or when Saban was coach?

I don't hear Miles's name being mentioned for every coaching position that may be available each year but with Saban it was a yearly ordeal.
