I can't believe all of this information is just now coming out . These are really interesting stories. It definitely is a great profile of an interesting character. Did Guilbeau ever make any attempt to do any indepth research on Miles?

I keep trying to picture the reality shot of Les courting , while decked out in his stripped bellbottoms and platforms. Maybe because it's too horible for my mind to process, I can only pick up a black & white animated image that resembles a flashback of young Homer trying to impress Marge & making a total boob of himself while at the same time & for some unknown reason , being successful in his endeavor !?

I realize that there are other issues w/Les and his coaching that this article doesn't deal with but it sure helps me to clarify : 1) Why his players love him so much!!! 2) That he has much the same effect on me that I had on my mother when I was a child. That being, that it was hard for to her to be mad at me , much less to administer discipline or punishment while I was making her laugh really hard!
GREAT ARTICLE !!!

An absolutely DAMN STRONG article. It's amazing how little we probably know about Miles.

Since Poker in the US has it's roots from south Louisiana, it seems that Les fits in very well. I grew up playing Poker and Bourre. My son went to LSU football camp in the seventh grade. He loved his suite mates from South Louisiana ( he grew up here in Fayetteville). He said, "Dad, all they did was cuss and play poker."

Great article...probably the best I've seen written about Miles' background. Gives some insight as to why he is the way he is.

However, his Dad's name was Hope and his name is Leslie. What the??????

LSU is the only school that has a coach , whose reputation can be rehabilitated , by being outed by the national media for silly childish behavior while in college , as a head coach admiting to a close friend he has no game plan before a major game and that he learned his life lessons @ the side of his father by getting up early each morning to participate in illeagle activities ( by today's standards Social Worker's would have taken little Leslie from Hope )

Bob Hope's real name is Leslie Hope. I wonder if there is a connection.
