Media says a 1-loss Bama or AU probably does, but I dont think we would because of the "Miles is dumb but lucky" factor.

If we lose to AU, but win out and Bama beats AU, then we win the SEC cuz we can beat anyone from the SEC east.

Tough schedule, but I bet perception kills us. Computers would have us as no. 1, but pollsters wouldnt jump us over undefeated Boise or TCU.

if we lose at auburn by like 7 or less and then absolutely destroy everyone else the rest of the way including the SEC then yea. That's assuming Auburn loses to Bama and someone else and Bama's only other loss is to us

ETA: actually I think we'd need to beat Auburn but we could afford a loss to bama if auburn won out
so Auburn would be 11-, Bama would be 10-2 and LSU would be 11-1 with the tiebreaker over Auburn

No, our loss would be too late in season...and the SECCG won't help us as much this year with the SEC East being down...

no, we wouldn't.

We'd also need AU to lose 2/3 to Ole Miss, UGA and Bama to make it to the SECCG (assuming we win out after losing to AU).

We absolutely need to win this game to win any sort of championship this year.

I doubt it. I think one loss will drop us too far, probably in the teens. We're not gonna be like Bama and drop to #8 or #9 with a loss.

...but we did make it with two losses. Depends on how the rest of the season plays out. Not likely though.

Under that scenario I don't think we would even make it to the SEC championship, because Auburn would hold the one loss tie breaker. Unless somehow Auburn were to slip up against Georgia.

No. Too late in the year IMO to lose one game without some kind of '07 magic occurring. Earlier in the year, possible. Key to getting to the NCG in the crappy BCS system if you lose, is to lose earlier than the other fellas.

I think you're right. If LSU beats AU and AL and loses to Ole Miss.

I think the writers say frick no.

This team could have lost four other games.

That's why we have to go undefeated.

only problem with this scenario is Auburn would have to lose twice.....to Bama and someone else...that is why this game is so crucial...might be more likely if we win this and lose to Bama and then have Auburn beat Bama giving us the tie breaker with Auburn

You're also missing another point. A 1 - loss LSU team could easily not get to the SECCG. A 1-loss Bama team probably would get to the SECCG. (Same might be true of Auburn - I can't remember who they lost to).

if we lose to Auburn, we can not win the west unless Auburn loses twice

If AU loses to Bama and one other team, and Bama only loses to us- then who possibly could have played a tougher schedule? Especially if Arky finishes 9-3.

If OK or Oregon is undefeated, then we would have no shot.

But if all other BCS schools have 1 loss, do we get in over an udenfeated TCU or Boise?

Auburn goes to the SECCG in this scenario.

ETA: Meh.. already taken care of.
