Fans Tough Questions are an Indictment of the BR Media

The people who should be most embarassed of the questions on last nights Coach's show should be the mamby pampy BR media.
The callers actually came with facts and statistics and continued to press on the main issue and did not accept meandering bs as an answer.
THIS is the job of the media. They are asleep behind the wheel in Baton Rouge. I guess they like their player autographed jerseys and free buffets too much to risk asking a tough question and actually following up on it until they get some semblance of an answer.
Dear Baton Rouge Media, YOU ARE SUSPECT!

Bingo!!
The few times they ask a non-softball question, Les will talk in circles and not answer the question. If that was my job (reporter) I wouldn't just quietly scribble on my pad. I might give a John McEnroe-type response, "Answer the question, jerk!"
Actually, it would probably be more professional to ask a follow up question cutting holes in the the bull %^&* response that Les gives.

I don't know what the answers are, but what if it's something like this:
"Jarrett is not ready to play a full game. He needs to see the field and defense from the sidelines at least half the game to understand what to do and what not to do."
As a coach, I'm thinking you can't come out and say this. When JL started "that year", it seems (from the games I watched) that his interceptions came early in the game.
Also, JJ and JL talk to one another, telling each other what they see on the field.
It could be that JL is much better in this type of dual QB situation. If so, maybe he'll be ready to rock in full games next year.
Just my 2 cents.
Edit: What Miles could say, if something like this is the case, maybe "we feel that both QBs benefit greatly in a dual QB system. It improves both of them."

Yes and do what REAL reports do. if he refuses to give cogent answers or his answers are not grounded in reality, you barbeque him in your columns and expose him. Its not that hard.

Or maybe they've already figured out that Les Miles just isn't going to answer those questions.
People want to know why he continues to start Jefferson, and he tells them. But they aren't satisfied with the answer. What is Miles or the media supposed to do? What purpose does it serve to keep asking the same question if you keep getting the same answer.
I've seen it written on here countless times in the past few weeks that Miles continuing to start Jefferson fits the definition of insanity. What makes the fans asking the same question over and over again any different?

1) It was not a problem to ask "tough" questions. Repetitive harangues are asinine, however.
2) A coach is not required to act upon the "facts" that the fanbase "brings". The coach has to make evaluations based upon practices and film, etc. And, they are expected to win. 7-0 (BCS #6)
3) The media is a professional grouping. They are smart enough to know #1 and #2 above
4) "hey coach. I have the naked pictures that JJ had of you" is childish. Yes, I get the allure of making the smart assed comment, etc. I also understand the immature comedy value (not an insult) of it.
The media needs not ask these things. The fans seem to have those ideas already. The coach is not going to suddenly give you a satisfying answer just because Cauble asked the question. He will answer (or, non-answer) it and they will move on.

What if someone asks Les Miles how many years he has been coaching and he answers, "yellow"? He answered the question, but his response made no sense. So does the reporter just keep quiet, or ask a follow up question like "But yellow isn't a number, can you explain that response?"
Basically, Les Miles' only reason for playing JJ is so that teams have to prepare for two QBs. That's funny, because LSU fans are worried to death about Auburn, and they only play one QB.

if a guy like Doucet dares to ask a tough question the posi-Les fans will just try to have him fired for being unprofessional and not phrasing things in the form of a question to confuse their potentially mentally handicapped coach

Yeah, I was praying someone was gonna call Miles out last night on that whole "playing the hot hand" comment. I mean, yeah, you said you'll do that Les, but you haven't done it the last 3 games, why should we believe you now?
Then he latered answered the same type of question saying he'd play the hot hand but there would still be a need to use both qbs....what the frick?

He's clearly not playing the hot hand. if that were true he would have left Lee in the game after the first TD. WE probably rack up 40 points per game and the WRs start to look like actual participants again.
His real strategy is to keep playing Jefferson until the game starts slipping away and then put all the pressure on Lee to save the day. its clear.

Why is that a problem? There is no "answer" that will satisfy you. Ask the question, and move along. The coach gets to make these choices for whatever reason he wants and does not OWE you an explanation as to why.
Now, by being close mouthed, he invites the public reaction he has gotten (to some extent). But, again, the constant haranguing is just silly.
Why not enjoy the wins? Seriously? LSU has had 7 of them without a single loss this season.

I completely enjoy the wins. what I don't enjoy is Miles continually making games way closer than they need to be by throwing away half of our drives. it is indefensible at this point.
You can say he doesn't "owe" anyone answers if you want but believe me, the boosters are fans. The ones who pay his salary and are teh backbone of our fundraising and program in general are "fans" with deep pockets.
Many coaches have eaten dirt because of "fans"

JJ plays until he turns the ball over or has multiple near picks.
Hes hell bent on the idea that Lee thrives on coming off the bench and counts on him to just simply rise the occasion every single time.
It's really not fair to the kid, sit on the bench for 15 minutes + and then come in and sling passes all over the field?
Tall order IMO

Might not like the answer but I really don't think he dodged it.

His skills were used to the tune of 4 yards of offense last week against a division 2 opponent.
His skills have netted zero TD drives in the past three games and he has 2 tds and 7 INT's plus multiple fumbles and gaffes that were lucky to not result in disasters.

It is rediculous how they cut those fans off at the show last night. What a bunch of garbage.. Les only answers positive questions.

Okay. These are differences between YOUR assessment and Miles'. HE gets to choose.
Again, he risks the ire of the fanbase (obviously), but, he gets to make the choice based upon what HE believes is best to secure the win. He is either correct, and the fans can eat dogcrap all the way to ATL....or, he is wrong and risks a much quicker trigger than would normally occur.
But, he does NOT owe it to you to "see it your way" or the answer the same questions repetitively.
Q: Why JJ so much?
A: I like his 'skillset'
DONE!
