I posted pictures of the new Hellraiser for the low-budget direct-to-video sequel a couple of weeks ago.
Now news is coming out about the big-budget studio remake of the original move and the angle they're taking kind of sucks.

We landed some huge news this weekend as we've confirmed that Christian E. Christiansen (say that ten times fast) is circling Dimension Films' big budget Hellraiser remake. As it was previously reported, the Victor Garcia low budget sequel, Revelations, was greenlit in order for the Weinstein Company to retain the rights (much like they did in 2005 with both Deader and Hellworld). Based on what I've heard from various people who have pitched their version of Hellraiser, the Weinsteins are looking for someone to make the franchise fitted for "teens", thus making the director of Sony Screen Gems' The Roommate perfect for the gig.

pg13 hellraiser can be done pretty easily
you just have to avoid little things, like showing the chains actually entering the skin

OMG please don't let them ruin Hellraiser.

Not surprised, but I think this movie will not live up to the billing of the original. Just another run of the mill horror remake. I'm pointing at you Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street.

Thats what people said about predator and alien movies too.
IMO it's not cutting out the gore that worries me, it's the idea that it needs to be made for "teens". Hearing that I picture some big breasted girl running through the woods screaming. Shitty slasher horror rather then the orginal Hellraiser movies

They ruined Hellraiser by even entertaining the thought of rebooting it.

Hollywood will not stop until they ruin all of our childhood memories

The original isn't a great movie, but how do you do a PG-13 film about murder, sex, violence, and masochism?
I would bet that this never happens.
