I love Ridley, but he isn't the leading rusher in the SEC

Cam Newton is technically.

Ridley is the leading Running back rushing though, but averages a ton more carries than most of his counterparts.

Still, great season for him, I just hope he doesn't get worn down as the season progresses.

I have a feeling that Saturday is going to be an audition for the consistent #2 back to take pressure off of Ridley.

Ridely should take the day off vs. McNeese. I think Ford, Blue, and Ware can handle it. And Murphy.

we still are the 5th rushing offense in the sec. Not saying that is bad, but it is not necesarrily good. We need more creativity in our running game. And use a back with breakaway speed. I think ware and ford could do very well and have a different style then ridley. He seems more like a powerback/fullback. Richard murphy had a good run in the florida game. I would like to see more of him too. But we need a slasher to open up the running game.

I would like to see diversity in the running attack with different weapons and more creativity.

We need more of a passer (more Lee) so that Ridley wouldn't have to seem more like a fullback.

Outside of LSU fans continually stating INCORRECTLY that Ridley leads the SEC in rushing, you mean?

Let's see:
1. The dude is averaging 21 carries a game through the first 6. He's going to wear down.

He has 125 rushes this season. That means he's on pace for 250 rushes in the regular season alone. That is 25 more than Hester had in 2007 through 2 more games.

Assume he plays 14 games like Hester? He'll be at 300 rushes. That's 75 more than Hester or 33% more. That's ridiculous. Scott only had 217 in 2008.

2. He's averaging 5.12 YPC which is solid, but you could easily tell he wore down in the UF and UT games. It wasn't hard to see it.

3. We need to develop our other RBs more, and by this I mean cut down Ridley's carries as well as JJ's and give them to other backs like Ware, Blue, Ford, and Murphy. It will help the team to have a fresh back in at times.

Those are just a few reasons.

And we did it even though we had no passing game for the first four games.

Now that the two QB system has given new life to the offense, I expect LSU to end the season in the top five of SEC offenses.

Prior to last weekend, Ridley did lead the SEC in rushing with 111 yds/game. Last weekend Cam ran for 200+ & Ridley rushed for 82 (or something close). Cam moved ahead of Ridley. I don't think that any LSU fans were claiming that Ridley still leads the SEC. Not that any of this really matters.

FWIW, Murphy looked very fresh when he ran against UF. They were probably surprised we gave him the ball, but still.

Solid post, dickhead. I thought he made some valid points. You obviously don't have an argument for any of them, so STFU.

Oh and read the one right above yours. He actually puts FACTS in there about ridleys rush totals. I know you probably can't comprehend stats, but we need to take some of the load off of him with all of the other guys we have behind him.
