Murphy in on the final drive...wtf

i was watching the game with no sound at the time. Was there a good reason why the SEC leading rusher was on the sidelines during that final drive?

Did you watch the game in the stadium, because they explained on the broadcast that Murphy was the better pass blocker of our two main RB's. Ridley is a north-south runner. With Lee needing to make some important passes, they need the extra blocker.

Commentators said it had to do with how good Murphy is in pass protection.

Ridley sold the play on th sideline with the why aint I am in the game look...Ridley is a bruiser while Murphy is the hope I can make the corner runner...

okay, lemme explain the psychology. If they give Murphy the ball to run a couple times, it makes the defense respect the possibility of a run. If they never gave Murphy the ball, that would be an extra defender not locked onto a player because they know Murphy isnt getting the ball. Why cover a RB that is not going to run when you could put that LB in a spy or zone coverage instead?

As long as JLee is running the offense I don't care who plays running back. Of course give JJ maybe 8-10 plays just to change it up a little.

Murphy better pass blocker than Ridley? No fricking way. Only reason he should have been in was for a wheel route or short flare that Murphy specializes in. Murphy = Dave Meggett style specialist.

No. Just because lee is better doesn't mean we dont need ridley to win.
