Jarrett Lee All Grown Up

I remember Jarrett Lee starting as a freshman, and how he seemed so much like a kid. He had young face, barely any facial hair, no facial definition, and some baby fat. He was so jittery in the huddle; he always seemed so damn nervous.
After watching his post game interview and watching the COX replay, it seems that he matured fast. I not trying to prove that he needs to start because of this or that this makes him any better; no, i just notice something different. I am a fan that will support whatever QB is playing at the time. Jarrett Lee seemed more confident throughout the game, especially the final drive. He didn't show much nervousness. He seemed to scan the field for receivers better than his freshman year. During his post game interview i noticed that he physically looks more mature; obviously with age this happens. Facial hair and less baby features.
These observations over the past couple of days have helped my opinion of Jarrett Lee become more positive. I will still need some more proof that he actually is a better football player. I guess we will find out more at Florida. I need to see a lot of progress to show me he is not a pick "six QB" anymore. I hope he does well; he may be our only bit of hope.
(Writers Question) Jarrett Lee still seems to always be tugging on his jersey and shoulder pads before the snap; what is up with that?

All grown up and still lobbing the ball into the middle of the field off his back foot. He is just the lesser of two evils at this point.

I thought rational people had left the Rant? Throwing the ball into the middle field, throwing 1 interception in the end zone, throwing another ball that the safety had in his hands until our QB turned WR broke it up...same Lee people. He'll make a great throw followed by a "what the hell was that?"

yes, but contrast that with JJ who will make one terrible throw followed by an equally "what the hell was that?"

I hate when he pulls on the damn jersey! it makes me feel like he is uncomfortable in his uniform

i was going to start a thread asking if anyone else noticed how confident he was in his post-game interview. The dude was beaming with confidence. god i hope he starts against florida...

Jordan Jefferson reminds me of a deer in the headlights. He facial expression when a play is being called in is similar to ones face the first day of a thermodynamics class

I said nothing about Jefferson in there. People are getting WAY ahead of themselves with Lee. Clearly he's the best choice right now, but I would take almost every QB in the SEC over our QB's right now. 2 years ago people freaked out about Lee throwing int's, then last year we almost lost the La Tech game because of Lee, then yesterday he almost makes a couple of crucial TO's in the end zone of all places. My point is simply the fact that he is very average, and posts like this are a) creepy and b) are trying to make something great that is average. The more Lee is built up the harder the fall will be. I saw some major flaws still against a terrible Tenn defense, some major tests are coming up quickly...just not getting my hopes up.

I was saying the entire game if LSU would let him get into a rhythm, he'd be good. He just needed to settle down and he did exactly that the last drive...
The INT he threw probably shouldn't have been thrown. But when you look at it again, the play was designed to go there as he made a read over and then a quick pass. Which the defender just made a absolutely amazing play on...
I'll be honest, if Crowton wasn't our OC, I think Lee would be a much better QB. Some of his play calling makes no sense. On one third down and short, I saw every receiver running 15+ yard routes and Lee had NO checkdowns. Retarded scheme.

I think we all do. That was only 3 years ago.

I wish Ridley would have fought more for that pass!
(oilattorney):
not everyone has a photographic memory. '08 was a weird year; not only did Lee play but so did Jefferson and Hatch. I think Lee was only 18 years old.?

i would rather see some hell of a throws and an offense actually moving forward.. even with the bone headed plays.. then a stagnent one man show lead by a qb who is hand cuffed and babied.

You're kidding, right? It was just a bad pass (a dumber call considering how good we were running on them and we were inside the 10).
Ridley fights for every damn yard he gets on the field. Thank GOD we have him or we'd really be in it deep.
