Pursuit of Happyness (2006)

watched this movie over the weekend, was pleasantly surprised. did a search and no one really talked about it on here and it seems like one of Will Smith's "under the radar" films (even though it grossed something like $160 million)
the script kinda sucked and i kept wondering where the plot was taking us.....seemed like he was just chasing around bums who kept stealing his stuff for too long, lol. but it ended nicely and Smith put on a really good performance, probably his best acting job ever. it was also really cool seeing him on screen with his son (who i think will be a huge star in his own right one day). the feeling of having nothing, but surrounded by wealth was greatly portrayed by the directors and smith. anyone else enjoy this one??

I'm not gonna lie, I cried at the end of this film. It was really well done.

when they called him into the meeting room and he found out he got the job, that was a very powerful moment. when he was attempting to maintain his composure and hold back his emotions, definitely made everything worthwhile. surprised he doesn't get more hype from this movie, or maybe i just never heard about it

I hope your enjoying 2006.
Spoiler for Florida fans...
Y'all win the BCS. Ohio State can't keep up with that SEC speed from the DLine.

exactly. i didn't realize this was the "new movie board"
this is one where i'd heard about it before, but never watched it, didn't remember the previews or what it was about, and didn't know anyone who had ever watched it. we were pleasantly surprised by the acting and overall product, and thought i'd recommend it on here so someone else might hear about it

lol. a football board? yes, they have several. this is the only internet forum i'm a member on though. i used to have an account on gatorcountry, but i never post there and only have 80 or so posts in over 3 years (mostly lurk). i got linked here for trent richardsons' announcement, lurked for a while, then something about the sec rant and the mixture of sec fans made me sign-up and start posting. now that it's predominately the bama rant circle-jerk i frequent there far less and have been checking out the other boards. good knowledge in several areas on these other boards, and i'm trying to catch-up on some older movies.

i wasn't bitching about you being here...you're not a fricktard like some other teams' fans....TD is addicting, i can't blame you for staying

you're not nearly as big a prick once you leave the SEC rant

Great Movie. Jaden Smith was excellent. It probably helped that it really was his dad.

I loved that movie, the fact it was based on a true story is whats awesome. It has to be quite a feeling from literally going from homeless to a multi-millionaire all on your own.
I also thought Seven Pounds was a good movie with Will Smith, dude is a good actor.
