why do LSU fans have so much hate for "Rocky Top"??? I'm a huge LSU fan and also love that UT plays that.

I agree it is not a bad song, pretty cool actually. The problem most people probably have with it is that they play it 97 times a game... literally every 30 seconds they strike up Rocky Top - just gets old.

The reason we hate hearing it is because when we hear it that means that Tennessee did something good. What is so hard to understand?

I actually don't "hate" the song....i just hate that UT plays the frickin' chorus 362 times a game.

They actually know another thing, the V-O-L-S song. They played that one a shitload in Atlanta 07 and I wanted to pound my head against the seat in front of me by the 1000th time they did that. Are they bringing their full band this weekend?

it's a cool song, esp if you know the lyrics. however, to hear it a million times in one game gets really old. also, they play it after scores or good plays by ut and you begin to associate the song with ut making good plays.

I thought Rocky Top was very cool ... until I went to an LSU-Tennessee game for the first time.

UT loses 5 yards ... ROCKY TOP, YOU'LL ALWAYS BE HOME SWEET HOME TO ME
UT muffs a punt ... ROCKY TOP, YOU'LL ALWAYS BE HOME SWEET HOME TO ME
UT holds LSU to 50 points ... ROCKY TOP, YOU'LL ALWAYS BE HOME SWEET HOME TO ME
... and it's so f'ing long! If they had a short version of it like our first down song, it would be fine.
... and the redneck sounding "ah-we" is much more irritating in person. ("good ole Rocky Top ... ah-we ... Rocky Top Tennessee")

Rocky Top is personally one of my fave college football songs. I don't get tired of it.
