Support Your Coach / Your Team?

Ok...everyone wants to bash Les Miles:
Les has certainly had some big ones to kick off a "star" QB and then fight that position for the next few years (while losing Hatch to injury then transfer, then Zach Lee to MLB). He has also won an FCS record 31 consecutive non-conference games. Now you can say, "well that's not the SEC"...but Urban Meyer hasn't done it, Nick Saban hasn't done it, Steve Spurrier hasn't done it. Like his method or not, Les has been winning. Mistakes made...absolutely. You guys remember Saban losing to UAB??? I'm just saying, there seems to be a lot of complaining about a coach who is 60-15 (highest percentage in LSU history). If you simply look at his resume, he's better than most of the coaches I mentioned above. And Saban left in 2004, the Championship was in 2007...Some of Saban's recruits, yeah, but not a team full....And how many coaches walked into teams and won with the players that were already there? By that theory, Saban did it with DiNardo's players in 2003 and with Shula's players last year. It doesn't discount Miles' 2007 National Championship....
What ever happened to supporting your TEAM (includes coaches, players, band, students, town, etc...)???

I don't believe those are mutually exclusive.

are you done?
okay, good.
remember the game against TROY a couple years ago? we might have won that game, but that was embarrassing...
that was Miles' UAB.
Compare Saban, Meyer, and Miles' conference & postseason records, that's what really counts.

Miles has been given a huge leash and the boos have come very slow in my opinion. Les lies in press conferences, and is absolutely slapping the most knowledgable football fans in the country with b.s. and with his refusal to listen to anyone. Les has continued throwing players under the bus and not taking heat for things such as spiking ball, calling timeouts, etc etc. He has now, IMO, painted fans in the corner where there is only one way to express our displeasure in something every fan, player, and media person in the country sees as an offensive abortion...its to boo! Along with this, he has put a "KID" in a position of certain failure and in a position to be on the field receiving these boo's, all the while having the balls to stand at the next press conference and scold these fans for boo'ing this kid when the truth is WE ARE BOO'ing HIM, NOT THE QB!!!
Dont tell us to support our coach and our team when the G.D. coach doesnt even support his own team!!!

Not sure what you're talking about, but we DID win the Troy game 2 years ago. Down 31-3 at half and we came back to win (with Jarrett Lee)...Maybe you were one of the thousands that left early.
And I did compare Miles' postseason record:
Bowl Appearances - Miles=5 Saban=5
Bowl Victories - Miles=4 Saban=3
Nat'l Chm'ships - Miles=1 Saban=1
Not sure I see your point about postseason!

Saban has 2
Meyer has 2
Les has 1.
winning the peach bowl isn't as good as winning a BCS bowl.
and you conveniently forgot about conference records.

Wow, that's a HUGE difference....So, what are the conference records???

The most important factor in judging a coach, leaving out morality issues, is winning games and winning championships.
LSU, to this point in time, has never had a coach do better in those 2 items than Miles for a like period of time.
So, yes and yes.

Don't compare Leslie to Nick.
This is your only warning.

There is 1 post season game that matters. I couldn't give 2 shits if we won/lost/tied the XXX bowl.
Win your division.
Win your conference.
If the stars align, and you get a shot, win the BSCNC game.

1. recruit top talent
2. make the players BETTER every game/year
3. make the better talent compliment each other with their talents and make team better
The rest of the things will come with those 3. Les does 1 of the 3 and the other 2 will soon override the 1 he does good!
