If the product is not entertaining to watch (I'm looking at you offense), people aren't going to want it.

It's simple supply and demand. I know we'd like to think football is about loyalty and life of death allegiance, but, at the end of the day, it's not. Ultimately, football is just another form of escapism from our world of frustration, stress, monotony and boredom. If people start seeing those things on the field, they slowly stop watching the games.

Joe Alleva needs to know this.

While people are always going to come to campus and get drunk for home games.

LSU's national TV audience is dwindling rapidly after last season. Unless you were born into it, LSU's football is hard to watch. Painful.

How are you not entertained by watching Peterson and the defense if nothing else? Also, Ridley has been fun to watch as he has been in beast mode and I was entertained watching Shepard run for a 50yd td earlier this year, so I'm confused by the lack of entertainment value.

Bingo. I will always go to the games because I am a die hard. Not everyone is and they want to be part of something exciting.

LSU football is not. Florida game last year had a ton of hype. Atmosphere was unbelievable.

We don't score a TD. People are tired of that.

If we would beat Florida, Bama, Auburn, and Arkansas by the same score of 2-0, everyone would be dancing in the street.

In football, winning is not everything, it's the only thing.

You are talking about individual "big" plays that yes, can be exciting. But those plays are few and far between and trying to watch the rest is like pulling teeth.

I also never said anything about the defense.

1997, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2005-2007 were all exciting years to me. Since 2008...

Aren't you the pompous fan! "Entertain me coach, or else I'll toss you aside like last year's girlfriend." It's the style points that count huh?

I don't think he is talking about die-hards or people who post here, just the casual fans that have invaded TS. I have a buddy who has been leaving early because he said he doesn't want to watch this shite. I have NEVER left a game early even when we are beating the shite out of La Tech. My buddy didn't go to LSU, I did.

We can say that all day, but there is a reason why some superbowls and NCAA FB championship games are watched more than others. It is possible that LSU could win and continue to lose fans.

Look at other sports as well. You can win all day at bowling ot cricket, but that doesn't make people watch. The desire for entertainment is what ultimately drives them.
