Few things on JJ

I really felt like there weren't enough threads on the QB situation, so I felt like I had to give my .02 pesos.
But first I want to go ahead and say that it is time to give Jarrett Lee a chance to see if he can establish any sort of rhythm with the offense. Miles really owes it to his team to see if he can find any kind of consistency on offense, something that is sorely lacking with JJ at the helm.
I don't know about you guys but I was infuriated by Miles' press conference in the afternoon. Infuriated not because of his comments - adding to his litany of gaffes - but infuriated because he never said that he will start Lee. Instead, he steadfastly defended JJ and said he had a decent game, choosing instead to blame the offensive line and WRs. But while I realized that Jarrett Lee was not going to get a fair shot this week when the offense desperately needs a shot in the arm, I suddenly realized just how bad JJ had been this season.
and how much better he'd played last year...
@Washington:
11-of-19 for 172 yards and a career-best three touchdowns
vs Vandy:
20-of-29 passes for 138 yards on a night when the running game racked up 178 yds
vs. UL-L:
16-of-25 for 165 yards and two touchdowns
@MISS STATE:
15 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns
@UGA:
18-of-27 for 212 yards and one interception
vs Auburn:
242 yards against Auburn on 21-of-31 passing with two touchdown passes and one TD run in what was the best game of his career
vs Tulane:
11-of-17 passes for 163 yards with two touchdowns
@Bama:
10-of-17 for 114 yards and one touchdown, had to leave the game in the 3rd quarter
@Ole Miss:
Passed for a career-high 250 yards with two touchdowns on 19-of-37 passes
vs Arkansas:
17-of-25 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns with one interception
Bowl Game vs Penn State:
202 yards on 13-of-24 passes with one score on a rainy, muddy field
Now, these are not eye popping numbers (I probably was not too impressed at the time). But without a half-decent running game and with an undersized offensive line, JJ did his part. In fact his stats are better than McElroy.
I took this from LINK
Fast forward to this year, the defense is arguably one of the best (if not the best) in the country, the OL no longer yields 3.5 sacks/game and while we don't have a Heisman caliber RB Ridley is well on pace for 1200 yds rushing. which brings us to JJ, when a mere average performance by his standards would have been enough to have us salivating at the prospect of post-season honors for LSU he has completed a measly 43-of-79 with 2 TDs and 4 INTs for a mere 54.2% compared to 61.5% last year.
What has really happened to JJ? After a decent start to 2010 (15-of-21, 151 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT on an attempted throwaway) he has thrown for less than 100 yds and 3 INTs. Is it merely the coaching (or lack of it), or inconsistent and sometimes overhyped receivers, or has he just lost his confidence? Will he ever regain it after he has lost (seemingly) the entire fan base and some of his team members in the process?

You can see at right that Jefferson's downfield numbers compare very favorably with Alabama's Greg McElroy, and if you gave Jefferson a Heisman-winning running back, the best defense in the country and an offensive line that didn't yield three-and-a-half sacks per conference game, he could probably lead that team a national championship, too. On a team that couldn't run and couldn't protect him, though, Jefferson obviously isn't (or isn't yet) the kind of quarterback who can put the operation on his back when things are going so well, as the offense's lo-fi performance in losses to Florida (162 yards, 3 points), Alabama (253 yards, 15 points), Ole Miss (290 yards, 23 points) and Penn State (243 yards, 17 points) clearly proved.

the thing that has troubled me most about JJ is his attitude on the field. granted I can't hear what he's saying but his body language says it all. there's no confidence, only blame and frustration. when I was at the Vandy game, the offense got fired up when JL came into the game. It was palpable.

JJ is in a horrible position. It's a sad day when your fan base is divided because of you. Some want to give you a chance and keep hoping, and some wanting to put you on the bench and forget about you.
I think he has lost a great deal of the fanbase and thats on the HC and OC shoulders.
That said, I can't imagine the heat he will feel when this team gets their 1st loss with him at the helms. I think people felt sorry for JL cuz the defense was BAD that yr. This yr seems so promising that JJ will get it worse than JL did.
It's not fair but it's the way it works at this level. This is "BIG BOY" football and JJ you're getting your shot. Good Luck!!

I think it was horrible the way JJ showed up James Wright with his body language after the dropped pass. Not a good thing to do to a true freshman wr.

I thought he went out due to injury in the 3rd quarter of the Bama game.
Also we have a lot of problems with offense and not just Jefferson. The only guy I would say has been great is Ridley when it come to our offense. The OL has been relatively solid, but as a unit has some pretty costly mistakes.

The "Head Ball Coach" doesn't have an issue with running his team, even if it means benching a bumbling QB or swapping QBs to see who has the hot hand. May be LSU WRs drop a few passes cause they rarely see a pass thrown their way in a real game-not at practice. This season, I have seen only one short pass that would've knocked the reciever down had he not caught it(everyone knows which pass that was). A three step drop and it should be in the numbers, if you can't hit those consistantly, everything else is a shot in the dark. TT should've caught that high ball, but it shouldn't have been a high ball to begin with. 3 steps and in the #s. If he don't catch it, go pick splinters.

This post is so money. If we had last year's JJ on this team, we're talking about championships.
