Les Miles no longer considered "on the the hot seat"

Just reading ESPN's (I know they hate LSU) website, and I noticed that Les Miles is no longer on the list of coaches that are on the "hot seat." I, for one, never thought that he was. But this just shows how fickle the media can be.... LSU and Miles are doing just as much as they did last year so far and yet Miles is put on the hot seat and then taken off the hot seat. It is just stupid. Miles is a good coach over a great program. Nobody is going to fire a coach with a winning percentage like Les Miles'. Nobody with any sense. Fire Crowton!!!

They figure if we havnt fired him yet, we wont.

Miles' seat will be warm until he get us back to the SEC title game. However, I think Gary Crowton needs to stuff oven mits down his pants...

miles day of judgement is coming. Performances and results against Ark, Aub, Bama, and UF will decide his fate imo.

If this year's offense tells you anything it is that Miles is NOT a good coach.

agreed. Our september record has always been pretty good.
Our recent records against SEC competition are unacceptable, and we're about to hit that stetch.

or we can throw him a full bathtub full of Ferrets. the more I think about Joe should have pressured a change with the OC when him and Miles met after the season. It is clear that is the problem on the top of the fact we haven't recruited a quality qb since he has been here on the campus.

Do you all really feel he will get fired this year if he goes 8-4? That means playing .500 ball the rest of the year.
This is not a question whether he deserves it or not but I cant see him getting fired at 8-4

one of my many theories (no real evidence to back it up) is that Miles maybe already wanted to get rid of crowton. but with the buy out he was told not yet. of course miles could go to TAF to get the money but we all know he likes to keep things in house as much as possible and doesn't like to burn too many bridges with other coaches.
miles isn't an idiot. he sees there is something wrong and will try and fix it. i just hope he can.

Well the last time he needed a "fall guy" he took out the co-def guys and we got Chavis, which has turned out to be really good. Maybe this will turn out the same way.

mile stays away from the defense though. i think he will always have his nose in the offense.

Coaches are part of a fraternity...Miles seems like a loyal guy that will do his best to ensure his assistants end up on their feet after they leave LSU, regardless of the reasons for their departure.

good point, b/c GC did get a fat contract after the 2007 season from what I recall. Miles needs to forget about burning bridges with the coaching network b/c pretty soon this will be the Lou tepper/dinardo soap opera all over again.

exactly.
and i'm not forgetting that billy g.'s receivers aren't helping Jefferson too much. a few dropped balls and bad routes has helped fuel the fire for the JJ hate.

Billy G was great at Florida and I thought this would have been the least of our concerns.
