Who's to Blame?

Not jumping off a cliff here, the Saints are fine. But, there are a few people who deserve to answer for things after today:
1. Payton = How can one of the most aggressive play callers be such a pussy when it comes time to win a game. Playing for game-winning FG's is stupid. Who would you rather trust to win a game for you, a kicker or Drew Brees. Give the ball to Drew and let him win the effin' game for you. No more of this tip-toing into kicking FG's to win the game, pound the ball into the damn endzone.
2. Hartley = Stop drinking with the Real World cast and start practicing 30 yard kicks. Stop admiring how good you look in black tights and practice 30 yard field goals.
3. That ref who obviously had a bet on the Falcons = The Saints WR goes downfield and is knocked on the ground as a pass approaches and no PI is called. Then Ryan throws the ball 3 yards in front of a WR and a PI is called. GTFO I hope he got pummeled by plastic beer bottles leaving the Dome
4. Recievers not named Colston or Moore = Catch the Ball!

You forgot that Brees need to keep the ball in his hands instead of making a bone headed play to stop a sack.
Oh and remind the d-line that perhaps they might want to actually sack the opposing QB sometime.
And the LBS and DBS should probably be told that on a blitz the idea is not to run directly into the opposing o-line.

When it all comes down to it... Drew will take most of the blame. And I guarantee you he will take it upon himself to get us focused for next week

It was a good call to make. Had he kept going and had a turnover we'd all be asking why he didn't kick it early. You are what your record says you are, and our record says we still can't stop the run and we have a young kicker that needs to get his shite together if he wants to keep his job.

He was a very solid kicker before having the rock star summer hopefully other kickers coming in this week will bring him back down to earth.

Why do we need to blame someone? How bout we blame the other team for scoring more points than us?

He absolutely made a good call in that situation. It's barely more than an extra point. Every snap is risk with not much reward. I would have assumed my kicker would make it. Just didn't happen yesterday.

yeah Shockey had a horrible game, especially when he caught that impossible first down on the potential game winning drive, right?

Last week after the 49er win I commented how our thought Saints coaching was suspect.
Most thought the Saints decision to possibly use all 3 timeouts in the 1st quarter to potentially force a 49er punt into the wind was a well thought out "Calculated Risk". I'm fairly confident he truly believed kicking on 1st down also falls into that "Calculated Risk" decision.
While he may be correct it just seems to me Coach is over thinking and not coaching by feel.

It wasn't just harper. He beat Porter and Greer. He beat Porter on the TD.

I can't blame Payton for calling for the FG at the end. Hell, I was begging the TV that he'd send Hartley out there.
