As much as I have heard about the LSU fans being some of the best and kindest to visitors I am hoping for some help.

My Sister and I are coming to the game this weekend, we've rented a car coming in from the airport area. Where can we park that is as close as possible and how soon should we arrive? Where can we go to get good Cajun food before the game? Realizing that most of that will be at someone's tailgate but we will take the next best thing. Of course, since we will be a heavy underdog and our poor freshman boys will be so undermanned, maybe someone will feel sorry for us!

Any other helpful tips as this is our first time to a game in Baton Rouge. Was actually hoping it would be night game so we could get the full experience but just happy to be going.

Thanks for any help.

Arrive in the morning hours for a good spot. Some of the streets on campus will be blocked during the afternoon.

Chimes is a good place for seafood near campus.

LSU Fans EXPECT to win EVERY game. When we DO win, that is what was supposed to happen.

It is the pathetic way we look when we win, and the fact that we still have to play Fla and Bama and Auby and Ark and Nutt, that causes the meltdown mode to occur

stay away from the bad parts of town. it's safe to go to the tailgates & game but afterwards, go back to your room & stay there are you might get shot.

also, don't be fooled by what seems like good looking lsu chicks at the tailgate. baton rouge is overrun with diseased transsexuals. keep a can of lysol on you.

have a great trip and enjoy lsu's offensive fireworks.

Where can we park

There is also a neighborhood close to the south gate that is free and close. Its right off Highland. You will walk through all the tailgate areas on the way to the game.

No where in Baton Rouge.

They are. I would suggest getting here early and wondering through the tailgate areas, take all the "tiger bait" because you will be invited to eat and drink in someone's tent.

I live in Florida and only get to Baton Rouge about once a year for a game. I try to make the most of it. I usually go to Mike Anderson's for dinner - it's a couple miles from campus, but it's worth it.

Chimes has good food and atmosphere near campus, and is within walking distance of the stadium.

Wear your UT gear and you will get invited to tailgate. Just have fun with the razzing and go with the flow and you will meet some great people. You will probably get a few invitations to tailgate on this message board. If there is one thing we LSU fans like to do is tailgate better than anybody else and show opposing fans that we tailgate better than anybody else.

Expect to eat some things that you're not sure what they are...

I think so, especially for her age!!! She's 76 but she gets around like she's 25.

Thanks for the good advise. Looking forward to a fun weekend. Hope we can bring some game with us to help out our poor young boys.
