What if WVU beats Pitt in 2007?

if Pat White doesn't get hurt plus the Mountaineers don't choke in that game, how different are things for both programs and for CFB? It's doubtful Rich Rod bolts for UM with a looming BCSNCG against Ohio State.
Miles, on the other hand, has a higher incentive to go to Michigan with a Sugar Bowl game against Hawai'i on the horizon instead of the NC game.
Just one of those interesting scenarios that you can see would have likely made a difference in the current states of these 2 teams, LSU and WVU.

Never thought of it like that, but WVU is the reason we are stuck with Miles.

The sad thing is some ppl probably would have rather not win the NC that year so that Miles would have gone to Michigan and we would have another coach

If WV beats Pitt, then Miles is still here but the leash is shorter. A NC tends to buy a coach some leeway, and just about every championship winning team has needed other teams to lose to get in. It isnt like 2007 LSU is the only team to benefit from another team's loss.

Saban would be back in BR and we would have already won another title and going for another.

Rich's agent was shopping Product Rodriguez prior to the Pitt game in 2007. Had it not been for some big time WVU supporters ponying up a large sum of money in the final hour, Rich would be coaching at Alabama.
I highly doubt that even if WVU wins against Pitt in 2007, and won a NC, Rich would have stayed at WVU for long.
He knew that he caught lightning in a bottle and wanted to use it to push "Product Rodriguez" to the forefront of college football.

ETA: this is the dumbest thread. Not you papa, but the responses by the idiots who would rather have us trade the 2007 NC for a new head coach, who would not be Saban. dumbasses.

BCS Championship trumps everything.

I'm at a loss for words. Why do you guys dislike Miles so much? I don't get it!?!? What's the problem? Are you expecting a National Championship EVERY year? What's the problem with Miles? The only stat that counts is wins/losses, and he's doing just fine.

Ali Highsmith would have ended Colt Brennan's life.
Nah, UGA was pretty much the worst draw they could get at the time and they got it.
