Movies that would not hold up with today's technology

With cell phones, internet, facebook, etc. a lot of great classics would not have had realistic plot lines if they were made today.
For example, in Sixteen Candles everyone forgets Molly Ringwalds birthday. Now a days, someone would have seen it on facebook, and the whole premise of the movie would have been shot to shite.
Home Alone- Kevin McAllister's parents would have had a much easier time getting back to Chicago from Paris if they would have been able to book a flight online. Also, having to call from pay phones made it difficult to leave a return number for anyone to reach them.
Any other good ones?

Priceline name your own price surely would have had something. She may have had to change planes 3 times but in 10 min she would have been able to book a trip back

See every horror movie prior to mainstream cellphone usage in real life and horror movies.

They could've just texted Kevin to see if he was ok and made a facebook announcement that they needed some help from anyone in town.
eta. Did they ever call the house and see if Kevin answered? I don't recall.

Yeah I think. Ice. But he got pizzas?? Maybe on Mom's end. I think it was stormy there.

Lol. Harry and Marv would be all over that house once that fb announcement went up -- as well as any pedo in the area. They'd probably "like" it too.
I have a feeling this thread'll gain some steam. Good thing too, because I am really bored at work today...thinking about starting shite on the OT

Die Hard.
Terrorists cut all the phone lines in the tower to ensure there is no outside communication. Never work today.

Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead NEVER could go down today.
The oldest daughter would not have been able to get away with lying about her age and whatnot to get that job. It's too easy to background check people in this day and age.

Not a movie, but I find myself thinking about this a lot with Seinfeld. If they had cell phones, George would have never popped the Bubble Boy's bubble, they would have been able to find each other in the parking garage episode and George wouldn't have missed the call at the Chinese restaurant.

So this can only work in movies that should or could have cellphones. i.e. futuristic tales. So couldn't Leia send Obi Wan a text: "Help me Obi Wan ur my holy hope"? This is better than a slow arse droid and his clutzy companion.

Cell phones can't be used in space, duh.

Saving Private Ryan. The Germans would've seen the entire Overlord battle plan on CNN.

but they should have residual signal towers left over from when the galactic senate (?? whatever it was prior to Palpatine took over) was still together and going strong on Courascant (sp.)

How about Psycho?
She would've had a GPS and been on the main highway instead of the backwoods one, and known she only had about 15 minutes to get where she was going. She also would've been able to yelp and know that the Bates Motel was run by a super creepy dude, and known that some Motel 6's were up ahead. Additionally, she would've been texting her boyfriend the whole time to let him know she was on her way.

The Matrix!!!!
Wouldn't have to go to a land line to exit. Think of all the avoded deaths when Scyther was being a bitch. He'd have to drag down and bomb a satellite or cell phone tower to kill the people inside!
**that is if the bots had towers erected for the humans to use.

Yeah, I'm reading The Steel Wave now and have thought a few dozen times "I can't believe the Germans didn't know about D-day in advance". Pretty amazing even in 1944.

Home Alone doesn't even remotely hold up unless literally the whole town hates them and hopes Kevin dies. There's no way they couldn't have gotten in contact with somebody to get Kevin while they were in Paris. I mean at least call the preacher for fricks sake, but I'm guessing they did and the priest just didn't answer. Child services was made specifically for families like the MacAllisters. I mean who would help a family with Uncle Frank and Buzz as the most prominent family members?
