Payton's contract isn't up for three more years. NFL isn't like college where coaches can jump job to job however they like.
I'd think John Fox and Cowher would be the front runners, although word on the street is that Cowher is waiting for the Carolina job to open up.

pretty sure NFL HCs under contract can no longer job hop, so he couldn't get SP even if he wanted him
