Does Miss St have an actual chance this week?

Hate to bring up old memories, but last year wasn't the biggest cake walk of the season. I fully expect LSU to win, but do you think it'll come down to the wire again? I think our team has improved significantly while Miss St has stayed about the same (just my opinion).

I read the score predictions but everyone is just posting random guesses. Do we dominate them like we did Vandy or is this going to be as terrifying as last season?

Only if we make it that way.

I don't think their offense can move the ball on LSU. They looked terrible at QB against Auburn and I don't think they will be able to run the bll against LSU like they did against Auburn a few drives.

I think LSU wins easy.

We're going kick their arse.

We have a talent advantage at every position.

Our defensive line has performed well.

We are playing in our home opener.

They have a QB named Relf.

I'm pretty sure he watched the game where our defense completely stifled Vandy and allowed only one offensive play of note. That game.

Found this and it's the best answer to your question. Tried to post it earlier but apparently it was an anchored thread.

LSU is their own worst enemy in this game. Like I said before, they should win the game (and win it fairly handily I might add). However, if the defense has UNC-like breakdowns and the offense can’t get the ball to its playmakers, Miss. St. could come into Death Valley and steal a win. Bottom line is that SEC football is SEC football no matter who you play. LSU needs to come out, make a statement and not allow the Bulldogs to stay in the game like they were last week against Auburn.

Points to consider:

(1) Last season, LSU played MSU on a wet, muddy field neutralizing the speed advantage and had virtually everything that could go wrong...go wrong and still managed to beat them in an early day game;
(2) This game is at night, in Tiger Stadium, the first home game, the defense is exponentially better than this time last year, the offensive line is better, the running game is better;
(3) MSUs best all-time player is playing against the Saints on Monday Night, not against the Tigers on Saturday;
(4) State cannot pass (at least two of their TDs against Memphis are INTs against LSU), they cannot run; and
(5) This is Mississippi State...a surefire win even in the Hallman and later Dinardo years...things are surely not that bad yet.

BTW, I do not have my head in the sand because I am convinced that LSU will whip MSU's arse.

We are literally more talented at every position on the field. Their only player of note is The Bum.

This is the main factor, or at least it should be. I don't think it'll be a complete blowout but maybe a 31-10 score
